    Re: getting discouraged.

I can't believe you even fixed your mouth to say what you did. NOBODY said anything negative/harsh toward you when you were complaining about your mother for over a week straight. Every check in was about how she made your life miserable when she was visiting you. Did it ever occur to you that others might not have their mother? Did it ever occur to you that everybody has given you nothing but love here and you go off like this toward somebody else who want to post their feelings. You sure are cold blooded!!

My mother was here for 3 days. It was a limited situation. This is a way of eating that is a life-long thing. We are allowed to vent, and I did so. Then and now. IT's not cold-blooded. To ENABLE someone's addiction to the scale is as bad as enabling their carb addiction.

      Hi Dan,

With your exercise level (long distance running), I would definitely try to start moving on to OWL. Maybe you could start by browsing the OWL forum for a week (but don't leave us completely, lol). See what everyone is eating, read the stickys at the top of that forum. Then jump in the next week and up your carbs. I bet you will start to see a loss when you add more to your diet.

        Re: getting discouraged.

Nikki you as well as everyone else here knows full well that Fin is one of the most supportive people on here. She is always helping those who need it, and has nice things to say to most everyone who posts. I don't understand why you would jump on the attack bandwagon so easily considering you KNOW what type of a soul Fin is. Everyone has an off day right? Give her a little break. I felt her response was a little harsh, but I too have been guilty of posting harsh comments and regretted them later...even removed them. Harmony kiddies, lets strive for it!

I think Finelly is already getting into bootcamp mode!

Sometimes our thoughts will differ from others on the issues, and sometimes our methods differ, too. I don't think Finelly is trying to be harsh. I think she's trying to snap Dan back to reality.

Dan you've lost a lot of weight so far! You're doing great! Yes, stalls are annoying. I get spoiled, even. I've lost almost 30 pounds in 30 days and I think, "Why can't I lose more?"

          Duh on us both!

Keep up what you're doing. We'll both be fine!

Yes, Cleo, please share your secrets. Daily menu, daily exercise, daily water intake, etc.

Now I don't really understand how I could be a size 16 and still weigh 190 pounds but thats exactly what happened to me.
Me too! I've been kicking around the same 3lbs for almost a month and a half, and have gone down from a size 16 to a size 12 in that time. Go figure.

                  Hey Dan...

Just wanted to encourage you to look at the big picture. You would agree that exercise is a huge part of being fit and losing weight, yah?

And you just posted about being able to run for 45 minutes straight..

That may not be inches today, but surely will be the basis for losing the pounds and inches in the future. Your FOUNDATION is getting stronger... so that as the pounds come off, and they really are for you, it will be easier to do and maintain in the future.

You wouldnt build a million dollar mansion on the bare ground, would you?

You dont want to be one of those icky uber skinny people who are skin and bone, but get winded walking out to the car, and cant lift their groceries, right?

It is about looking good, and havign a good body... the muscle and fitness level improving, as it is, means that you are LOOKING better all the time. And I would bet that you have gained some muscle, too.

                  Daily Goals:
                  No wasted carbs.
                  Water intake .5 -1 gallon.
                  Exercise 60 minutes 5x week
                  Get in the right veggies.

hee! It's funny that you say that. I was watching the Playboy Swimsuit Model show - where they were trying to pick a model, and saw this episode where they were all exercising and couldn't even lift a ball above their heads more than like 5 times.

later in the episode they had to swim out and back on little surfboards in a relatively calm ocean (foot high waves maybe? and just one set of them at a time) and they were just getting knocked every which way. It was hilarious. They were staggering up to shore and collapsing after paddling maybe 20 yards, surfing back, and running back to shore.
