  • Monday check-in

    Good morning!

I am feeling slightly miffed as I stayed the same weight this week but I need to concentrate on the bigger picture and the fact that I have lost 13.5 pounds in a month

I had bacon and a tomato with a flax cracker on the side with some cheese - yummmmm for breakfast. Will have tuna salad with lunch (with a sprinkling of seeds now I'm on rung 3) and probably chicken for dinner.

My DD has just gone for her morning nap so I'm going to get some housework done and then we're heading off for the gym/creche.

    Have a nice day everyone.

    Re: Monday check-in

    Morning all!
Omlette with tomato this morning. Need to get out and do more exercise today as I let it slide over the weekend.
Good surprise this morning though - got on the scales dropped another pound. Since last weekends fall-out I've lost an undeserved THREE WHOLE POUNDS!! Drunk so much water I've run out of fizzy bottled and will have to rely on tap til tommorow (yuk).
How'd Saturdays nights dinner go, Zara?

      Re: Monday check-in

Good Morning....sitting here having my tea and trying to wake up...hate Mondays! Had a bad night's sleep...why is it that when it's time to get up that's when one can really fall into a deep, deep sleep...

I'll get moving shortly...have to put together my meals for today and enter them in fitday. Looks like it will be another nice day weatherwise (no humidity) so at least that will help to get me moving.

Hope you all have a great day!

I'm with ya, Spikette - I didn't fall asleep last night until close to midnight, and woke up WIDE AWAKE at 3:45. Finally got myself back to sleep around 4:15, and the alarm went off at 4:45.......It's gonna be a loooong day!

I feel good, despite being sleepy. However, STILL retaining water! It's about 2 weeks now - what is up with THAT? Not even CLOSE to TOM.........any ideas?

                Re: Monday check-in

Finnelly...I'm going through the same thing...retaining fluid. My legs right down to my feet swell up and are achey. Somedays it's worse than others...especially if I'm on my feet a lot or believe it or not, sitting a lot too.

Doctors haven't figured out what's going on...except that it's not totally "water" as I've had tons of tests. I also have a prescription diuretic, and I definitely drink enough, so I do "go" enough. Next Doctor appt is with a vascular doctor, as I've gotten spider veins, which I've never had before and that could be contributing to the swelling problem as the valves might not be working properly preventing the blood from circulating.

Is your body swelling up...or your feet, hands, etc? If it continues you might want to see your doctor. I know how uncomfortable it can be

                  Re: Monday check-in

Good morning, everyone. I am on my second water and just got finished munching on some celery sticks with chive cream cheese to tide me over until lunch. Breakfast was 2 flax muffins. Lunch is a sausage link and some cheese on 2 flax crackers. Dinner tonight is hamburger pattie w/cheese and a salad.

Yesterday I made it a full 40 minutes on the elliptical machine at the gym - woo-hoo!!! It really is the best machine for me - not as hard on my feet as a treadmill and gets my heartrate up higher (burns more calories). I have to work up to it, though, as it kicks my b*tt. I started out on the treadmill for the first month I was going back to the gym and gradually increased the incline and speed until I was in better shape. Then I tried the elliptical for 10 minutes, then switched over to the tradmill for the other 30...... then 20/20...... yesterday I decided to try the whole 40 minutes and made it!!!!

I got on fitday.com and caloriesperhour.com and did some interesting calculations. I know my body is not a machine and does weird things during weight loss, but it was interesting to use the calculators and we'll see if they are accurate in the long run (3 months).

I calculated the calories burned during my 4 trips a week to the gym, the calories I would burn in a normal day, the calories I am averaging on Atkins (from fitday) to come up with a 'calorie loss' per day. I plugged that into the calculators and it indicated I will be 5 pounds short of my short-term (wedding) goal by Dec 30. Not bad - it reassured me that my goal is reasonable, anyway. We'll see..... Of course that does not include Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays in there. I may not be perfect, but I am going to try and limit the damage. I have spent so many years eating pumpkin pie and dressing that I know what it tastes like and I can live without it this year.

                    Re: Monday check-in

Yesterday was egg-ugly, as I had 3 meals of eggs.

Brfst: Fried in butter topped w cheese (again)

Lunch: Deviled eggs and a salad

Dinner: Omellete w sausage and peppers

This morning I could NOT gag down a whole egg!! Lunch, thankfully, was half a pork sparerib lft over from Saturday, and I still have cauliflower left in the fridge.

Dinner tonite will be a challenge. We have a church supper, to which I contributed peanut butter cookies made yesterday with my dd. I managed not to eat any, but did lick my fingers once or twice. I will bring the leftover deviled eggs, but it will be hard to eat if there's yummy junk there. No time to make anything else though.

Yay for you, Zarabelle, on Saturday!!! Do you mind if I mimic you tonight?
