    Re: Slow losers post here

I too am a slow loser, I lost 14 lbs on induction and gained back 4 almost immediately...for no reason, hey i was even vigilant w/ excercise. I seem to lose only around TOM but this time i lost the 4 lbs from last month and another 4 and i haven't gone back up... yet...but i had that 4 lb weight gain and no loss stick around for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm totally thrilled that so far i've lost 18 lbs but w/ this last 8 i've been lazy about excercise and i keep telling myself that even if i lose only 1-2 lbs per month , then next year i'll be 12-24 lbs lighter and that's progress for me. I think that because i tend to stall it will be a long haul, so it might take me a few years to get to goal, but for me, i'm committed to making Atkins a WOL and a few years just means that this will be a part of my life in a stricter way in the beginning and will evolve naturally w/ the phases and continue even after i hit goal.

I, personally feel that 18 lbs in 2 months is awesome esp for me but i know my patterns, so i'm bracing for a slow go from here.

I am a sloooooowwww losers too. I've been eating low carb since January 14, 2005. I have had several chunks of time when I was cheating. The good news is that I have maintained and have NOT gained in those times of cheating. I just haven't lost as much as I was hoping for. I've lost 25 pounds in 9 months....

Meeeeeeee............ I am a slow loser, however, I feel it is mainly my fault, at least I can't tell if it is not because every month or so I am a sucker and I cheat.......... When I do cheat I will gain several pounds(can you say yo yo yo yo)even if I only cheat for a couple of days(water, I know) but it will come off within the next week or so, and sometimes I lose even more... I think it may have to do with the whole body shock thing, however I am not recommending anyone else do it becuase I am sure if I would have kept doing it I would have lost that much if not more. SO- I am a slow loser but I believe it is my fault, I have lost this way before- and kept most of it off, and I am confident if I can stick with it and follow the program correctly than I can do it again!
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

            Re: Slow losers post here

Well, as of today, I've lost 20.5 lbs since June 20. My weight loss, as I've said before, is a few pounds at a time, followed by a pause. This last pause was 3 weeks long. Then I dropped 2.5 lbs in 2 days.

It's good to know we aren't each alone! I don't like comparing myself to others, but I DO like having the comfort that I'm not the only person on this boat!

The other thing I was thinking about was how much I appreciate each pound lost. It really MEANS something to me to be below 200 now. I don't have a tendency to cheat, but lemme tell ya, I've worked and been patient WAY too long for this to be tempted to start going back UP the trail.

You are not alone. I feel the same, with the same hormone poblem. I seem to lose slowly but find it very easy to put a few lbs, then off I go again. I am sitting here, trying to convince myself to carry on with woe as I know it makes me feel good. I just wish it would make me feel slim too. I'll keep going. Hope you will too.

                Re: Slow losers post here

Well, well, well... here we are!

I started Atkins March 2004. I wanted to lose the weight for my wedding that was in August 2004. I didn't make goal, but I lost 15 lbs and lots of inches. I still had to "trade up" my wedding dress because I had hoped to be smaller.

So after the wedding and the "cake" cheat, I continued on. We went on a 7 day cruise for our honeymoon. I could not find a whole lot that I "could" eat. Salads had carrots (shredded) in them, meats had sauces. I couldn't get anything plain. So I had a good time anyway and decided to get back on program when we got home.

That failed. Holidays, family, surgery, etc etc. So the 1st of January, I started again. Did great on induction (not as good as the 1st time of course). Then nothing. I started on the rungs thinking that would help. Nothing. So I got discouraged and cheated. One cheat led to another... then another.... (you see the pattern).

I happened on the Candida board. I took the test and found out I'm loaded with the beasties! I have started my anti-yeast program and am eating the KISS way for the next 6 weeks. We'll see what happens. I would love to be at goal by my 50th birthday (July 2006). But my current goal is to NOT look like my hubby's ex-wife!! I want to get down to my size 6P. Then she & I will be in the single digit sizes together... me a 6P and her a 9X!!

Besides being healthy (and avoiding diabetes), that's what I want to see in the mirror.. 6P. If it is slow, so be it. I know I will get there!
