          Re: Bidding my Farewell

One of my friend's moms did WW with an Atkins-like twist. Focusing more on carbs in relation to the points. But still using both systems in a way. I don't know the details, but she said it really did help. She ended up getting to her goal weight (losing ~60 lbs). Good luck with it and if you posted back about your progress, that would be cool!

              Hi Sarah,

Good luck to you I did weight watchers at one time, but it went very slow losing the weight for me because I took advantage of using my points on all the wrong foods (simple carbs, carbs carbs!). I ate sweets every day just because I "could"... That is not something WW specifically encourages, but the freedom of your food choices is one of the things that makes the program so appealing to people. I did it and still lost some weight...but never got even close to my goal though because I couldn't "handle" that kind of freedom lol.

I encourage you to stick to whole natural foods while doing WW. When I was a WW-er it seemed that the people who used most of their points on the healthier choices (ie. whole grains, veggies, meats etc...) and limited their starches and sugar did MUCH better losing. Our WW instructor even said that she noticed that some people did better on more protein and less carbs.

Wishing you much success in reaching your goals!

                  Re: Bidding my Farewell

Good luck with WW! I am a lifetime member and reached my goal weight 15 years ago after my first son when they used to limit your bread exchanges to 3 a day. I never was as successful when they moved to the point system and you could spend all your points on starches - I was hungry all the time.
