  • Friday check in - anyone?

Ok done great this morning and looling forward to my flax seed cracker for lunch.
Am going away to visit some old friends in the country and with some trepidation. Dh is going with me and is in a Very Bad Mood, he hates the countryside and is moaning why we have to go. Knowing his apptitiude for creating atmosphere's this is going to make it an intersting weekend. And God only knows what I'll be eating (I have told them it has to be Atkins friendly - she's thinking of starting the WOE herself, but I don't think she's quite grasped what it entails fully yet!). I wished he let me go on my own, but life's not like that at present....
So wish me well, have a great weekend everyone, and I'll be in the wilds of the countryside drinking spring water - straight from the tap!

    Hi

Squeaker - have a lovely time. Hope your hubby snaps out of it!

Had a good day so far. Just got back from the gym (40 mins cardio). Feel very virtuous as this is an extra workout. Normally go Monday and Wednesday (did those too).

Am about to make a BLT on flax bread - YUMMMMMMMMMM.

Going out for a curry tonight - I will have a chicken jalfrezi, egg plant bhaji and panir shashlik. No beer, rice, bread etc.! Don't even crave it anymore

    Have a nice day everyone.

      Good morning!

Squeaker: I sure hope your dh sweetens up this weekend! If he doesn't, shove a big wad of leaves into his mouth when he opens it next to make a nasty remark! That'll teach him!

My dh has the evening off and also tomorrow (he works 2 jobs) and I'm as excited as can be. Have no idea what we'll do - probably nothing much, just hang out together, which is my favorite thing in the entire world. I'd rather snuggle on the sofa than go to a movie or out to dinner.

Last weekend at this time, the house looked like a disaster area (bad joke at this time, but it was actually true). THIS week, it's relatively decent, so the weekend won't be completely devoted to cracking the whip and getting the kids in line!

As always, my thoughts and prayers are with our buddies in Louisiana and Texas - hope you evacuated to a safe place, and I have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you and your property!

Good MorningAll! Beautiful day here...but I'm not feeling all that great Waaay too much swelling (legs) to be comfy...so I'm home from work today trying to get things back to normal...whatever that is...

Already had breakfast...mushroom/swiss omelet w/bacon...rest of the day right now is up in the air. If I'm better later I will be going to the gym this evening...in fact most likely will as that always helps.

Prayers and thoughts to all in Texas and Louisiana...be safe.

          Everyone have a great Friday

Re: Friday check in - anyone?

Thought I'd better check in today as I forgot to yesterday! It's still early but still feel like I can continue with this - it's day 3 of starting over. Yesterday was really hard - I wanted to eat whatever I shouldn't but I just kept grabbing my water bottle and tried to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible. If I can just get thru the weekend, then I'll really feel like I will be able to stay on track.

Also sending prayers and thoughts to all in Rita's path. Please be safe.

Moongirl - you will make it through the weekend. Don't be thinking those negative thoughts now.

I'm doing well. No sign of induction flu, although I was feeling pretty sleepy during my meeting yesterday afternoon. Of course, meetings always have that effect on me (lol) so it might not have been induction-related.

I re-inducted on Monday and then on Wednesday and Thursday I just seemed to be hungry all day! Don't know why. I was drinking more than my required amount of water and I snacked on cheese strings, devilled eggs and olives. That helped a lot. I didn't get the urge to eat anything I shouldn't, but I sure as heck snacked on anything and everything that was legal. I know that things will settle down in the next week or so.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend and sending thoughts and prayers to my Southern U.S. pals.

Re: Friday check in - anyone?

Hi y'all TGIF!!! Thought I'd start doing the daily check in too.

Squeaker my husband is always grumpy when we have to go on a trip ESPECIALLY if it involves my family. But, the good thing is he always snaps out of it the minute we get there and is always so charming and funny. I guess he just stresses ahead of time for what purpose I have not idea. So maybe once you are there he will be ok and have a good time.

Everything with this woe is good this week. Once I got back on it has been easy thank goodness. The rest of life is pretty stressfull with work not going great and hurricane scares here texas not helping things any. But if I can hold my eating together I feel so much better abour everything.

We get out of work early today and am going grocery shopping to get everything I need to make some great low carb meals this weekend and next week. DH is working all weekend so I am working at home and taking care of the baby and just enjoying now working here!!!! haha And waiting for the storm to get up to us sometime this weekend and hoping we do not lose power.

good afternoon i am happy to say i am feeling pretty good this friday fall day. i have thought about all the stuff going on lately in life, and i am going to take a chance and go on these interviews next week and see what life brings me. i came across one of those chain emails yesterday, and it was crazy how much i needed that silly old forward. it was a speech that someone made at a college graduation, but it basically was saying...if today was the last day of my life, would i be happy with what i am doing? it said that you shouldn't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. so you know what? I THINK THIS PERSON IS RIGHT! just like i am in charge of the foods i eat, my lifestyle, i need to be mentally happy too...so here goes nothing! phew sorry this is getting a little long winded. the point is: time for some changes!

Re: Friday check in - anyone?

hello, I thought I better say hi and check in too. This coming Monday will be 2 weeks of induction for me. I have been pretty good (a couple slips in those first few days). However, I know I haven't been drinking enough water (except for tea and coffee). That's the other thing, I haven't given up coffee or diet coke, not yet. I don't have a scale, which I'm relieved right now, because I get very adicted to weighing myself constantly. I know that I feel better, no more of that carb-bloated feeling every time I eat. I feel about the same weight/size wise, but I think I may have lost a tiny bit, because my clothes are very slightly loser. I'm hoping to continue to progress in these next few weeks. I have been trying new recipes which has made things less boring. My goal is to get through this weekend, and continue on induction on Monday. Have a nice weekend everybody.
