  • I'm back...slinking back to Induction

    Hi everyone,
Well, I don't know if anyone noticed my absence, but I'm back now, and need to restart Induction. I had a lot of stress and very bad news in the past few weeks, including a car accident (I'm fine, car isn't), loss of a long friendship, and friends going through deep grief and illness, that sent me careening off of the plan. Yep, that's right, I still haven't figured out a way to break the cycle of sabotage whenever things get stressful in my life. When depressed, I reach for the sugar (or the chips).

The thing is, I REALLY want to lose this weight! I need major support to get this done, and a solid plan in place. Part of my problem this time around is that I wasn't keeping enough "legal" food around, and I haven't had time to cook the things I used when I first had success. I need some time-saver recipes as well as to get a grip on my emotional issues. I bought a new journal this morning and I plan to be vigilant with it.

Maybe it would be good to plan out a menu for the first two weeks?

    WELCOME BACK DARLIN! MISSED YA!

Yes, it would be good to plan a menu or at least a list of things you have available to nosh on.

Given the stressors in your life right now, you might consider also making a list of nice things you can do to nurture yourself during the next two weeks, as you start to deprive yourself of your drug of choice - carbs.

And of course post every day or risk the wrath of the Siamese Attack Cats....

Yep, post each day. Be accountable to the STAC forum to what you are doing and eating each day. This helps you make better choices. At least it does for me. Maybe it would help you also.

Look up the sticky about doing special things for yourself. A little pampering goes a very long way.

Im sorry its been hard for you lately. Hang in there. Once you get control over your eating you will feel better even if your life seems like it is careening out of control.

Oh! And vent. Thats what we are here for!

Hi urban! welcome back! I think we've all gone on hiatus from time to time, or else we woudln't be STAC members, eh?

I agree, planning is about the best thing you can do when doing atkins, particularly if there's stressors in your life. If you just have dinner sitting there waiting for you, you'll eat it. If you're like me, if it's not that obvious and you're stressed, it might be the pizza man bringing you dinner instead!

Sorry to hear about your woes..

Welcome back! I find that is the hardest time to control my eating as well, however I find it even harder after I have gone off the plan to get back on it! You have made the biggest step in my opinion! Welcome back ! (((urban)))
