  • Hello, May I come back again?

I found your board about 2 years ago and my screen name then was Twobears8860. I thought that since I have changed since then that maybe a different name was called for. I was on Atkin's for a while, fell off the wagon for about a year or a little more, and have returned to the diet as of March 12, 2005. I still cannot believe the amount of weight that I have lost in total. I thought that I would let ya'll know the amounts so that I will be caught up. Here it is, my starting weight was 422. My weight as of Saturday 10/1/05 is 251. I have lost a total of 171 lbs. All by following the low-carb lifestyle. This number still seems unreal, but if my math is right, then that is the amount I have lost. A few weeks ago we got a new computer and it took me a while to find this sight again, but now that I found it, I hope that I will be welcomed back with all the love and caring that I experienced that first time I came here.
I am looking forward to hearing from ya'll and looking forward to all the great advice that I know ya'll have to offer.

I agree with Cleo: If they let me back on here time and time again, (Did I mention that I am day one induction again today!) then everyone is welcome! You are my new hero! 171 lbs. is something to write a book about! What is your biggest tip? Also, what was your "light bulb" moment? IF you want to share, what made you say, NO MORE?!
          Welcome, welcome...

          rung 5 - wine -
          rung 6 - beans, hummus
          rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)

I have not seen my body frame for about 15yrs. (oldest son) I am reeeally new to the board etc...I don't even know the terms, threads? Posts? The different boards? I chose this one because it is my second time...LOL!! Well welcome back! I live in Georgia as well and work in a hospital. Well heres a cheer for your victories and more to come! Any suggestions? I am doing extended induction right now. islandmoments

Re: Hello, May I come back again?

Thanks for the warm welcome. If I can help anyone, I hope that they will ask.. I do not know much, but I have studied Dr. Atkin's book. In fact, I carry it to work with me and if I get confused about something or need a little inspiritation I always have it with me. I am so happy to be back among people that understand this WOE and do not judge every thing I say. But, I do have to admit that since I have lost this much, there are several converts at the nursing home that I worked at before going to the personal care home. There are now at least 6 nurses and 3 CNA's also on Atkins and several more thinking about trying it and looking for the book
