  • Can't Consume Enough Water

I'm starting a new job next week. What can I do to get my recommended amount of water? I usually drink between 60-80 oz. of water per day, but I'm also going to the restroom every hour, literally. It will be absolutely impossible to use the restroom more than 3-4 times during an 8 hour day now, so what can I do?

Explain to your boss that you have a weak bladder (even if you don't) and promise it'll be get-in-get-out (and can you get a desk next to the BR?)

I dont' know mabey you don't have to say anything. What kind of boss would complain about somone going to the bathroom. I like the Iapetus's idea also. Keep up the water drinking!!

No boss can prohibit you from running to the loo can they?! I mean, so long as you're not high-fiving everyone as you run down the cube row and chatting up everyone you see, I would think running to the bathroom quickly and discretely would be seen as 'just one of those things'.

I am lucky there, I work 11-7 at a personal care home, and there are bathrooms everywhere I try to drink a gallon of water each night at work and most of the time, I get it all down, but it does seem that after a while the going every hour slows down and even drinking that much, I do not seem to be in the bathroom(s) a lot. Maybe you will do the same, how long have you been drinking that much? Just give it time, it is amazing what your body learns to handle and what you can do if you have to!!
