Today I had a saleswoman visit, and she broguth donuts.

I had not come up to the front of our lab to meet her yet and she was speaking with my employees in our break room. When I got there, she told me that they had told her that I would not eat a donut because it was not on my diet!!!!!!!!!

I must seem determined and committed to them this time. That felt great to hear!!!!!

Great job, psigna! As an aside, I remember my pastor was doing Atkins. While we were at Bible study, he grabbed a donut and ate the whole thing. Then his eyes got big and he said, "whoops!" He ate it without even thinking because it's just what he'd always done! So, you held out even better than a southern baptist near the longjohns! I hear an "Amen" coming your way.

My office is the same way!! There is always food. Today was a birthday and of course, Dunkin Donuts.

My co-workers don't even ask me anymore. It's very cool. Ocassionally, they'll slip and ask me and then as they are asking, they'll go "sorry, I forgot." I love it!

I love the respect that they have for my choices, but it was a long time coming. I still have a few at work that think they are tempting me. It's kind of funny. I am committed. I am determined.

I opened the box of donuts to see what they bought, and strangely enough, they STUNK! I couldn't believe it! I used to LOVE donuts.

              WOW!!

              WE Rock!!

P.S. Our new Admin Asst (been working in our office less than 3 months) said that she is putting on weight in our office. I told her, I know. This office IS ALWAYS eating and chocolate is on every other desk. If you give in, your waist will give out! lol

Ditto on the goodies at work...the staples seem to be pretzels and bagels, and there is always Birthday Cake...except for me My girlfriend knows I won't eat cake, so she doesn't make me one. When she makes for others I am always asked "aren't you having any" and it's very easy to sit there and watch and just wish the person happy Birthday

Holiday time is the worse...there are tables and tables of home baked goodies for the whole month of December. Even before ATkins I never really had much...the time I did I got pretty sick....the horrible Carb Bloat. From that point on, I just stayed away from that department.

That is great! That is great that others are respecting your ways now. Perhaps that sales person should bring something elese! I am looking forward to all of this... not really, but now I have a heads up. I just graduated and I am going back to work after beening out a few years. Now I know what to look forward to. Do you all keep things that are quick on hand for these instances?

Start bringing in a veggie tray from time to time and watch people make the major beeline. I take veggie trays wherever I go. It's always a hit and people don't even know I'm doing Atkins (because we ALL know people on Atkins only eat meat and fat!).

Way to go being so committed!!!! My work is the same way. Food all the time. Birthday cake, pizza, fried chicken every time I turn around. The next few months will be the worst. Manufcturers will come in to introduce their new products for 2006 and they always bring food of some sort. And then the holidays and all those goodies and covered dish lunches etc... You just have to plan for those days. Bring your own atkins goodies. Be the one that brings the low carb turkey and cream cheese wraps, or the meat and cheese trays, or the ceasar salad. Make and bring your own crustless cheesecake for desert for the lunches when there will be tons of deserts. There are always those people that say "just a little bit won't hurt you". Yeah it will!!!!! haha You just have to be determined to just say NO to those people.

Congratulations. I know the feeling, it is a joke around my friends....they always say, it doesn't matter what you bring, she won't eat it. LOLOL. They know that most of the time I come prepared and bring my own food no matter where I go and what I do.

They used to ask if I'd eat this or that, but now they just worry about themselves cause they know I will take care of myself when it comes to what to eat. I've trained them well.

Well I have noticed too that certain people get very offended if you don't eat their food. I try to find somthing I can eat when dieting at mother-in-laws, or the 900 parties that my husbands family has! I think that is a good idea to just bring your own food. I will have to always bring something to share that I can eat!

Good onya for not having a doughnut.

When I was working in San Diego we had a Rabbi that would come in and bring bagels every Tuesday... when he offered me one and I passed because of carbs he started bringing in veggies (celery and carrots). Bless him, he was so thoughtful.

I was the offender at work, I always bought in homemade goodies. I love to bake and people love to eat, what can I say? It never hurt my feelings if someone didn't eat what I made.. I don't eat a lot of things other people make because I don't like raisins, nuts, carrots, strawberries, etc. if they ask why I'm not eating something I try and be as polite as I can about it and just say that I don't eat whatever because I don't like something in it but that I'm sure it tastes wonderful. If they didn't quit nagging I usually take a slice or something back to my desk, wrap it in a napkin and toss it.

Veggie trays are a good idea Cleo! And on the plus side if we make veggie trays to take in, we get to pick whats on them and what kind of dips so you're not stuck wondering "is this ranch ok to eat?" and having to look at carrots.

At my current job it's easy to say no to the food thats offered. Usually doughnuts (come on now... they could at least bring in some Kripsy Kreme!), cookies or low-carb/sugar free candy. Yuck-o. Besides.. no offense to anyone I work with but just looking at those cookies makes me not want to eat them.. they're disappointing because the ones I make are soooooo much better looking.
