You are doing so marvellously , casey! The first 2 weeks can be an absolute killer, but you've kicked it's fanny and wrote it a ticket!

    Way to go!

Re: Day 15 - Almost Done

Ok, I hit day 15 and did great for 15 days....then day 16 hit. I had 2 days with bad choices. So I guess I broke my 15 day run....WHY WHY WHY is this so hard for me? I have a really hard time on the weekends. I got my exercise in (I'm training for the LA Marathon so I did 10 miles total this weekend) but I cheated on my food.

I'm not going to let that drag on so I'm back on a doing fine today. The weekends and Taco Bell Taco Salad are two of my biggest deterents.

So I'm going to say "Sorry, Casey. I will work harder because this is for you and you are worth it". I'm going to jog/walk 3 miles tonight and will hopefully be back in Ketosis.

For any of you who go for more than 15 days without cheating, HOW do you do it?

Re: Day 15 - Almost Done

hang in there Casey. be proud of yourself for not saying, "oh I blew it, now I'll just eat whatever I want" and giving up altogether. that's what I ended up doing after 5 months on the diet last year.

I started again a little over 3 weeks ago and am so much more motivated this time around. I am determined to see my goal sometime next year. I know exactly where I went wrong last time (too many "low carb" baked goods/candy/ice cream, and a nut addiction), so it's easier to stick with it especially since I'm seeing amazing results and know this is working.

yes I still look at the krispy kremes my brother left on the kitchen table and long for the burritos he eats in front of me. but somehow I just don't let it bother me. I tell myself I don't want it and eventually I believe myself. I'm in this for the long haul this time. when I get discouraged, I write down all the reasons I'm happier now than I was a month ago and all the reasons I'll be even happier when I hit goal. then I go for a swim or some other kind of exercise and when I'm done I feel fine. this board also helps a ton, even though I usually just read other people's opinions, but it definitely helps to feel like you have a support system.

so anyway, sorry for all that. just know you can do this, keep doing great on your exercise, and make sure you have plenty of legal snacks (hardboiled eggs, cheese sticks, etc) on hand especially during the weekend. you're gonna do great!
Sorry everyone. I've had to abandon Atkins. After slipping up, I gained back everything and more. I fully believe in and support Atkins, I know it works, but it's too hard for me. I'm following my own plan now, exercising more, eating less in general and healthier, still focusing more on veggies and fruits and whole grains and much less processed junk and bad carbs. I still visit here occasionally, so I will keep my stats listed here when I do. I wish everyone the best on this program or any others that work for you.
