I live in an amazing city.

This city is so perfect for my husband and I, we are total foodies and love everything about it. The ritual of prepartion of it, the event of going somewhere good for it, the spontaneity of finding something wonderful, the gathering of it. Plus, we always use food to celebrate, comiserate and cope - I know, emotional eating is bad, it is our one vice (I include wine in the whole dining experience, so I rationalise it in my head that food+wine=one vice) but try as we might, it is who we are and that is not going to change.

We have access to the most diverse range of the freshest produce and we have an army of incredibly talented chefs (see recent reviewes by both the NY and LA Times) and a bevy of gourmet "instituitions".

However, we are making a huge lifestyle change and leaving Sydney and moving to the country town where my husband has been working for the last six months (about 850km / 530 miles away).

Which of course meant we have had to farewell our favourite food institutions.

Its also meant I've been dealing with handing over and leaving my current employer. Stressing about my new job (we are so lucky to have both found tech jobs in a rural area!). Finding a new house and packing up the old.

Combine all of this with flying interstate every weekend and I have completely fallen off the WOE-wagon.

I've been annoyed with myself that I'm giving up the remaining seven months of paid gym membership, so I haven't been going as much as I should have. Plus I have had that whole conundrum of how can I force my body to excercise when I'm not in ketosis, it doesn't feel as good.

All of this means I have gone from a healthy 83kg (BMI of 25 / 183 pounds) and ballooned back up to 89.8kg (198 pounds!)

I have three days to pack up our apartment and get myself back in order.

Then I'll be moving down, starting the new job and will be back together with my husband again after living together only on the weekends for the last six months.

I do so much better when we are together, we keep each other in check and exercise together.

I have three days to kick start myself.

Three days to ensure I start my new job and new life well in ketosis and feeling 100%

In the meantime, I'm going to make myself go to the gym every day, just to squeeze that last value out of it.

I'm going to drink rivers of water.

I'm going to start a clean-ish induction (I'm still addicted to macadamias from the nut OWL rung and I can't give up coffee).

I'm going to pray I can still fit in my work clothes (after giving my notice of resignation, I dropped the business attire and went casual every day).

I'm going to keep checking into ADBB.

I'm going to ignore any sugar cravings.

I'm not going to make any more excuses about spending weekends in a country town with wonderful bakeries and cake shops on every corner.

I'm not going to have any alcohol.

I'm going to get my butt moving.

I'm going to have a very busy three days!

    I hear ya.
Starting a new job next week...losing my free gym membership and it's in a part of town that's far away from my favorite eating places

Going to work increased hours too.

Transitions are hard but somehow the benefits of the change seem to balance things out.

I'm sorry if the above sounded so negative (and so LONG!!!!).

What I'm doing is a huge lifestyle change with amazing benefits - I actually get to work less hours.

Well, actually, the hours of work are the same, but I'll no longer be doing on-call work and I'll be in a position to actually take a lunch break and my commute goes from 45 minutes each way to FIVE!

Add to this I'll be living with my husband again

Good luck with the new job, I start on Monday too. I hope with the extra hours that you are doing, you can find someway to get some non-free-gym exercise.

Fortunately I still have my really cheap $7/month gym membership...but that gym is really far away. (my "free" gym was walking distance from my job)
Can't just go there during lunch.

Also the pay is at least 31% better so that helps.

Yeah, I can see that how that could kind of soften the blow of having to find extra time to get to the gym.

          Congratulations

/me runs away to keep packing boxes

Sounds as if you have a good plan in place Claire
Good luck with the move and life-changes
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
