  • Do you weigh in every week?

    Hi

Do you weigh in every week? I am trying to work out if the scale is my friend or foe!

I usually sneakily weigh in every morning but only register it on a Monday. It's rediculous I know as my weight fluctuates throughout the week.

Do you find it better to weigh in once a month or so?

I feel that after eight weeks on this WOE, it has become part of my life now and I don't need to keep jumping on those scales as it's not a race (been reading Dr Phil!).

    What do you think?

I've put my scale away until November because I'm tired of worrying about how much I've lost for the week.

If ity's not a helpful tool, and if you're not benefitting from its use, then I'd put it away and try measuring for awhile. That's what I'm doing.

I must admit that I am closer to a daily weigher. I've been trying to stick with Monday only, but so far I've only made it 4 days without weighing. I know it sucks, and I shouldn't, but I get so paranoid that I didn't exercise enough, or didn't eat enough salad, or had too much cheese or something that I just want to make sure I didn't go up. that way if I do, I can be more careful with my meals/exercise.. just my rationalization, and probably an unhealthy one, but I can't help it. I know I would never be able to go a month without weighing. at least not until I hit goal and stay there a while.

but I think that whatever works for you is fine, as long as you realize that it will fluctuate some due to water weight, etc and it's not any reason to give up the plan.
Sorry everyone. I've had to abandon Atkins. After slipping up, I gained back everything and more. I fully believe in and support Atkins, I know it works, but it's too hard for me. I'm following my own plan now, exercising more, eating less in general and healthier, still focusing more on veggies and fruits and whole grains and much less processed junk and bad carbs. I still visit here occasionally, so I will keep my stats listed here when I do. I wish everyone the best on this program or any others that work for you.

I weigh myself once a week, on a physician office type scale, on the same day, approx. the same time. I don't keep a scale because I know I would be on it weigh too much (ha,ha).
I think everyone needs to find what wor for them. Like cleo said-
If i feel becoming to scale obsessed- I'll put it away.
What you are losing in inches- doesn't always show in lbs.
        Start weight 265+ 9/1/05
