  • Comfort Foods

Well, yesterday I figured that there are certain foods that are "comfort foods" I have always known I used them. ONe of my foods has always been cookies. My day started out as I went to get stamps, and right there was a full display of those Halloween Oreos!!

Then my husband (Mr. Skinny) comes home with Scooby Doo cookies for the kids!!

Ok, the cookiefest is not over yet people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My second son came home from his friends house and she made cookies for him. He brought home a whole plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • So I resisted Three times.... If I see a cookie today I am going to run and scream!!! Well now I am getting larangitus(sp) so it will be more like running and wisper screaming!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (the dog wouldn't even listen to me this morning)
Yet I did have some yummy chicken broth, oh that felt soooooooo good!! It is hard to be sick and stay away from "comfort foods", what do you do for recreating comfort foods or do you make new comfort foods?

Way to go on resisting temptation!

Comfort foods are only that way because we have given them that power.

Isn't it amazing the power a Scooby Doo cookie has over the psyche?

We need to move comfort away from food and towards people, hobbies and exercise. Those are three things which will never add to our waistlines, bring pleasure, and don't require guilt afterwards (unless a hobby happens to be toilet papering peoples' houses).

Tea is comforting. Decaf herbal tea. Wrap your hands around it and it's like a hug from the inside out when you drink it. As Cleo says, don't give foods that power. If your body needs comfort, get it a blanket and a pillow. If your soul needs comfort, then you have to find non-food ways to comfort it, b/c food doesn't work on the soul.

Way to go on sticking to your plan! Cookies are so innocent looking and yet so evil, aren't they?

Yes!!! That is just a very good way to look at it! Excersize and hobbies. You know I used to be very physical and write poetry... Hmmmm got me thinking!! Also the herbal tea sounds lovely. I do have chamomile that i might have today and some chicken broth with no salt. Thanks!!

Yes, I thought that at first, perhaps one litttle tiny cookie, then I said "self are you crazy!" So I kept hiding there cookies in the cupboard so I didn't have to look. I feel great that I didn't eat any!

I have a mini goal of losing as much as I can by a wedding we have to go to November 26th, then for my birthday December 26th. So I am trying to keep the prize in site!
