Hi all, I have decided to try something new since my long stall on Atkins but I do believe low carb works to some extent. A friend of mine introduced me to the Prism weight loss program. Yes, there is a book you can buy and learn the eating program. Basically, you stay away from white sugars and white flours for the first 6 weeks. No wheat bread during this time too. Calories do count just like they do on Atkins. They tell you the difference between good carbs and bad.
Now I can have fruit again, brown rice, and a wider variety of foods and the pounds have started to melt off me. It is a lifestyle change, similar to Atkins but less restrictive. My body is loving it and I am still not hungry. All I can say is do what works for you and this works for me. I is Christian based with scripture reading but you don't have to be religious or Christian to do it.
I guess you can say it is similar to OWL if you compare it to Atkins with less fat. So if you are stalling on extended induction, I say eat more complex carbs like fruit and veggies. Just my 2 cents worth!
I started this a week ago and have lost 5 lbs now. I couldn't budge on extended induction for over 6 wks. I guess I finally found what works for me!!! I am so happy
