  • I did it.. sort of..

First off I would just like to say hello to everyone. I've been off and on with this forum for quiet a while, mostly just lurking. Ive been on atkins for about 2 years, with 2 serious attempts, and today I began my 1st day of the 3rd and final attempt! Thats why I decided to come back to , I remember what a big insparationt they were to me and Im sure they will be now.

I was only hmm, just under double the ammount of carbs I was supposta have, but I'm not going to "restart" as I've told myself ever day for the past about 8 months. This probably isnt the best time for me to begin, I have a lung infection, bronchittus as well as a few other health concerns (the main reason I was over was because I had to have certain things to get well) But Ive made up my mind and if I dont stick with it I never will.

So this is just mostly a hello post, thanks for listening, and hopefully I'll be posting alot more in the next months!

        Hi Machel
        Welcome to our family.

I hope you work through your health problems soon. Just follow the plan as best you can - and stick to induction levels of food as closely as you can. I would not try to account for the carbs from your medicine but just take what you need to get better.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Hi, Sydney! You've already shown you know how to work this way of eating!

What caused you to stop the first 2 times, if I might ask? Id you are an emotional eater or need some extra oomphies, don't be afraid to join the Dr Phil Reading Club we have in this forum. You can come in at any time. It's a book that helkps deal with the emotional and psychological, while Atkins deals with the diet.

If weight loss was all physical and not mental, it'd be as easy and natural as breaking wind after eating a can of saurkraut at Oktoberfest!

Re: I did it.. sort of..

Thanks everyone for the encouragment! I'm feeling a little better today . Also, cleochatra I think I might just do that!
I do have a small question tho, if anyone can help... I have the DANDR.. somewhere... it appears to have gone missing since yesterday, I'm gunna look for it when I feel a little better. But can anyone refresh me on how much water we need to drink every day on induction? Thanks so much

Water to drink on any given day, even past induction is 64 ounces, plus another 8 for every 25 pounds you are overweight. I'm so glad you're feeling better!

Me and my fatty liver are sad that we can't join you in Onederland as soon, but my doc said, its goona take me a little bit longer to lose seeing that my liver has to lose fat first before I do. I am hoping I just ate way too much sodium the past couple of days and not enough water- changing that as of today though!!!! lower sodium and *tons* of water! And you know I will definitely hold the door for you!!!!
