  • Hello! I'm back from holiday

    Hi Guys

    I have good news and bad... I am incredibly pleased to announce that thanks to all of your encouragement and support, I managed to stick to the plan throughout my holiday (except extra alcohol). I have stayed the same weight this week which was expected as it's TOM. Thanks for all of your help. It is the first time in for as long as I can remember when I haven't used a holiday as an excuse to eat as much as I like and worry about it later.

    The bad news is that I returned to the news that my father is very ill in hospital. He has an infection and pneumonia (sp?) and is really poorly. It was a real shock to come back to as I didn't even know he had been ill. I went to see him today and he is really sick but stable.

    Anyway, I am feeling pretty sad at the moment so I will sign off and speak to you soon.

    Welcome back Zarabelle. That is great you stayed on track through vaca. I am however sorry to hear about your father. My prayers are with him, and I hope he has a speedy recovery!

        Welcome back Zara Awesome job on sticking with the plan. Sorry to hear about your father being so sick My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family that your Father will recover soon.

              Yikes! Good job sticking with your WOE, but that's terrible about your dad! I hope he gets well soon!

                Zara, we are here for you. When my Dad was sick earlier this year, (he is fine now) I sure wanted someone to talk to. This board is about more than the diet. We want to support each other in all aspects of our lives. We are here to listen when you want to talk. BTW, excellent job on the diet...

                1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
                what the rungs mean to me:
                rung 1 - more veggies
                rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
                rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                rung 4 - berries, melon
                rung 5 - wine -
                rung 6 - beans, hummus
                rung 7 - other fruits
                rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
                rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
                (on to pre-maintenance)

                        Zara, I hope your Dad is better and all is well. I was going to ask you to tell us about your vacation. Where did you go, what did you see and do. I love to read about folks travels. When Dad is better, tell all.

                          He is terribly ill. Still in Intensive Care Unit and is now on dialysis as his kidneys have failed. I am gutted.
                          I will tell you about the hol when I can remember it again!
