  • I came SO close to cheating

About as close as one can get and not really do it, actually.

There are all kinds of Hallowe'en goodies in the staff room today. Most of them I had no trouble resisting, but snuggled in among them was an apple pie with the flakiest crust you've ever seen. Now, I admit, I LOVE apple pie. I looked at it, walked away, turned around and went back. I kept thinking, "I've been so good. I know that if I eat this, it will throw me out of ketosis, but I'm not in a race, here, so what's wrong with putting myself a little behind?"

Well, I sliced a piece (not a tiny one, either!) and took it back to my desk. I took a deep breath, and picked up a forkful. Before I put it in my mouth, I started thinking, if I eat this, then I'll have that attitude that I've ruined it for the day, and might as well have whatever I want. That would then start a binge that would go on until bedtime. Who knows if it would even be over tomorrow -- I doubt it!

I put the fork back down, picked up the plate and returned to the kitchen, where I put the entire piece of pie down the disposal and turned it on.

Whew! That was a close one!!

Great job Chris!!! I had the same (well not apple pie...I definitely would have caved then!) temptation at work today as well...And had I caved, I would have had the same attitude - already blew it so why not eat whatever? Somehow I managed to keep from eating the sweets/other carb full foods.

      Way to stay strong!!!

          Chris,

Good for you! That is one good thing about working from home...I never have to endure the holiday treats in the office.

Very strong move...having it that close to your mouth and thinking about it all the way. That's great, congrats on your dedication!
