  • Have you ever thought this?

    Hey guys...

    I'm on day 2 now and I think I have already lost 2LBS..(I mean water LBS of course) but whatever ..yaay!

    So anyways...I'm doing this trying to lose 20LBS, but there is absolutely no motivation! I'm not excited like I was the 1st and 2nd time I did Atkins. Maybe it's the induction flu? I don't know..I know I wan't to lose these 20LBS, but I'm almost accepting the way I look now..You know what I mean? I look in the mirror with a nice outfit on and I say, well I don't look that bad...but I know I do..Still with me? Why am I going back and forth like this? Hmmm..it is the time of the month...AHA...that must be it! Has anyone else felt like this?

    Just wondering
    Thanks
    Sirine

    I think you could let go of a specific number on the scale and focus on being happy in the now. Let your body be where it wishes to be and you won't need to force feed motivation.

      Hi Sirine,

      Since this is a re-Induction, you know it is hard for the first few days, especially if you are suffering with Induction Flu and the hormonal swings of TOM.

      Your body is fighting you on the loss of the carbs and the change in eating in general...just keep fighting back, you'll get through it!

        I chalk it up to PMS! It does funny things to our will and to our normally rationally-functioning brain! Hang in there Sirine! {{{Sirine}}}

          Thanks!

          I think I already knew it was TOM, but just needed to be reassured and know that I'm not really giving up!

            I felt the same way last week after re-inducting. This week is much better...I am slowly getting my motivation back. You will too!

              I am the samw way. I was SO excited the first time I did Atkins. I prepared myself ahead of time by going to the store and seeing what would be available for me, reading posts on LC boards, reading DANDR, etc. I didn't just make the decision one day - I really prepared for it. And it went great. Lost 30 lbs in a year and LOVED every minute of it. Now I have been off track for almost 2 years and gained all of my 30 lbs back. Every time I "start over," I kind of half-a$$ it. I am NEVER 100% committed. I don't know how many times I have started over in the past year and a half but it never sticks. I always know in my head that I am not committed and then I know I will not do well in certain situations. I kind of "allow" myself to fail over and over and then decide I look ok at this weight. I just keep wishing I felt like I did the first time...

                YES! Exactly...Wow I guess I'm not the only one huh? In times like these I come to this Board and get the best advice, then I feel all better! I remember why I am doing it in the first place.
