  • Sunday Check in!

Hows your weekend going? 3 day weekends are great but they go by just as quickly as the regular ones dont they?!

Tomorrow is back to real induction for me. Getting rid of sugar was one thing but now its back to dropping all those good maintenance carbs that are allowed later on. Good bye coffee. Good by fruit. Im setting up a good support system at work so that while I am in the kitchen I will get that extra little boost of power knowing there is someone there to remind me of my goals. Especially since Wednesday is Thanksgiving Day at the school and I have a huge meal to prepare for the masses, beginning with baking desserts tomorrow. Im fixing faux potatoes and other things this week here at home so when we all sit down for dinner on Wednesday I will have my own little meal to go with the turkey.

    Happy Sunday!

    Re: Sunday Check in!

Today is going good so far. I had the worst headache ever yesterday (day 1), I think it was from caffeine withdrawl. I got up and went grocery shopping super early to help myself prepare for the week. I think one of my problems is at work I don't have access to low/no carb foods so I let myself get hungry and that is when I cave. I now have a big drawer full of celery cut up, brocolli cut up, romaine lettuce chopped and sealed into 1 cup size portion baggies. A tray of deviled eggs, and a few whole boiled eggs. I think this will really help me. Here's to a great week!

      MissyMiss,

Thankyou for mentioning deviled eggs. I forgot what a great snack they are. Just what I need today. I'm back on induction determined to kick my sugar habit. No sweetners, no franken foods, just good old induction whole foods. This is day two of no sugar and day one of no sweetners. I've been on ADBB for hours and it helps.

Lunch will be garlic shrimp on romaine with deviled eggs for a snack later.

I LOVE deviled eggs. I have to make sure I don't go overboard with them. I usually have 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner (2 eggs), so it works out ok if I have a couple of eggs scrambled for breakfast. Tomorrow is my "real" challenge since i will be back to work. I am really glad I started on Saturday since I never would have made it with the induction flu I experienced yesterday/this morning. I feel 100% better today and hope it continues!

I had a good day. I had a moment of temptation at Starbucks because Egg Nog Lattes are now available, but resisted it. I took one tiny sip from my daughter's, and it was TOO SWEET. I love that.

Ran bunches of errands, cleaned the house, and am now cooking up whatever I need to take to lunch for the week - pumpkin souffle, parmesan fried zuchini, and my sour cream thingy, plus devilled eggs. I already have broccolli cut up for steaming, and individual packages of spinach to cook.

Terry, I'm with ya in spirit. You can do it! You really can! One day at a time, eating right, telling yourself positive things.

MissyMiss - you've done GOOD! It's so important to plan ahead and get supplies ready for when you need them. The worst thing in the world is being committed to low-carbing, and then not having access to the right food.
