  • Question @ induction flu the 2nd (or 22nd) time

Okay, I've been "dabbling" for a couple of weeks here, trying to start all over again . . . pretty much starting fresh each day and failing by nighttime. But as of last Thursday, I have been doing a clean Induction. I've been on track, staying right on target for five days now.

So here's the question . . . and it's an embarrassing one: How do I tell if it's Induction Flu or the Flu Flu? Shouldn't I start feeling better soon? I'm miserable! Don't mean to give too much information here, but I'm considering moving into the bathroom . . . is it normal to get diarrhea as a part of induction flu? I don't remember if this happened before.

    Any advice out there?

Everytime I've restarted I get that effect, but not constantly to keep me in the bathroom although I have heard of others having that problem. If you don't have other symptoms that would make you think your really sick I would say it's induction flu, but if you are having to stay in the bathroom that often I would be worried about dehydration. Keep an eye on yourself!

      Hang in there laidyhairg
From what other STACers have posted induction can affect you differently each time you restart

BTW congratulations on your 5 days on plan - a great achievement

I had this same dilemma recently. From previous experience, what I told myself was that if it was the real flu it would last longer than three days. Now depending on how much glycogen you have stored in your body, it could be shorter or longer. I know that for myself this second time around, day two hit me hard and I felt absolutely horrible, but by day three I started feeling better and at the beginning of day four I bounced out of bed. I guess you just have to pay attention to your body to see what kinds of symptoms stay and which ones suddenly go away. That way you can qauge which type of flu that you have

          Lady,

I can identify with your problem. I was visiting that part of the house seven to 10 times a day for the first five days or so of induction. I think it was horrible, but once it was over...it was over. Make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and try to eat some protein (the veggies might send you in there again) to keep some strength. I say in five days if it has not passed go to the doctor and see what is going on. Are you having a fever? Chills? Anything like that could mean real flu or a metal taste in your mouth, funky breath and the need to pee could mean induction flu.

I agree with all the above post. It will effect everyone differently. I DO believe a lot will depend on the GLYCOGEN stores. The more glycogen the longer it may take to get rid of the pesky things. My advice drink lots of water and stay true to your body. GET RID OF THOSE SUCKERS!!!!!!!! U will feel better afterwards when they are long gone.

Well I feel better now that I know that I am not alone. It has been happening to me today.. I know I have been in there at least 6 times.. and earlier I felt like I was coming down with a cold. I will definanly drink more water tomorrow.

Re: Question @ induction flu the 2nd (or 22nd) time

Okay, it's been a few days, but things are finally slowing down a bit around here. DH and the kids were also racing me to the bathroom for a couple of days, so I think it was sort of a combination of the real flu AND induction flu. I promised myself I wouldn't get on the scale for at least two weeks . . . but I kind of feel like any pounds lost during this little adventure are kind of cheating!

Anyway, I managed to stay on-program during all of this and I'll be darned if I'm EVER going through it again.

How about the rest of you? Anybody else still got the trots?

                    Happy Monday!
