      Re: "trashy" snacks

I was embarrassed the first time I brought cheese chips to a party. I brought them out and mumbled, ah, erm, I brought these instead of crackers. Two seconds later they were gone - it was though a herd of wildebeests at tromped through and hoovered them. I know that's not where you were going with this. The point is...as Willbethin said, most of what we think are weird or trashy snax are actually really good and other people want to eat them. And then they leave the crackers and the macaroni salad for us.

Roast beef with a little bit of horseradish. It has got to be Boar's Head. Yum.

Ok, I shall admit with my head hung in shame that one of my favorites is pork rinds dipped in Ranch dressing. However, I have given up my pork rinds for the time being to stop a stall. Let me see, anything else that is trashy I eat? Nope, I think that is my trashiest indulgence.

salami rollups are called pinwheels on my from the store platter.

I love cream cheese just as a hunk between my fingers so i guess that would be my bad snack food.

"pinwheels" makes them sound a bit classier. Perhaps if we add a toothpick and a sliver of ginger........

This bunch of folks will eat bout anything...

salami cream cheese roll ups are a favorite at gatherings around here.

SOmething I dont liek to be caught eating is the cracklings in the bottom of the pan when I roast a chicken. Dont know why this embarrasses me, but it does.

I get it at Whole Foods, they have it at most of the larger grocery stores, or you can order it online from Bob's Red Mill.

you just take a pinch of cheese, we use cheddar, fresh parm, whatever you like. We grate the cheese first, makes it easier cause we blend cheeses. Put it on a wee bit of parchment paper and nuke it 20 secs to 1 min, keep checking it, cool and peel off. microwave times vary greatly. Delish!
