Woo! Go you on Day 2! I can't wait to see your results when your number start dropping, (along with your doctor's jaw).

Re: day 2 to clean induction

Congratulations, Bigjay on your great start. If anything will lower those numbers (including the one on the scale) it's the Atkins WOE. Remember, though, that cholesterol and triglycerides can actually climb for a brief period shortly after starting. Don't be alarmed, though, they'll start falling shortly after that, and I won't be the least bit surprised if you find that they're in a normal range after about six months. That was my experience, as well as that of many other members.

Your post is a great example of the fact that we Atkineers not only follow the program for what it does to our appearance, but what it does for our health as well.

I wish you wonderful success, Bigjay!

Re: day 2 to clean induction

        Hey BigJay!
Welcome aboard! My DH also started this WOE to lower his numbers. He is going back in a couple of weeks to recheck things. He was not what I would have considered overweight. He is 6'1" and weighed 215. He is now down to 190 and looks great. His numbers were extremely frightening both the cholesterol and the triglycerides were way out of range. He had always eaten a fairly low fat diet with lots of fruits, which we now know was not working to his advantage. I'll let you know what the new numbers look like. He has been on the diet for 12 weeks now. Best wishes!

Hey Big Jay, How is the day going so far? I think that it helps me if I post as often as possible. Every time I start to falter during the day, I think about the board and I know everyone is watching me.
