  • Office/Workplace Defense!!!

OK. It's December 1st. It wont be long before every company in the world extends their holiday cheer by sending us candy, cookies, etc.

I am stocking up my desk with pork rinds and legal snackies to keep these demons away! What is everybody else doing??

    Re: Office/Workplace Defense!!!

Oh, it is awful around here everyday, but particularly Tuesday's. There are meetings after meetings full of the yummy treats, particularly pastries and doughnuts. Ugh. I started re-induction on a Tuesday because I knew that was a weak day for me. Prior to that, I had always fallen off on a Tuesday. Now, I just look the other way!
    149.8/no weigh/ 119

    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
what the rungs mean to me:

    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)

ask your office manager about helping those with food issues by having healthy stuff too like raw veggies.

Be brave and tell your officemates you are doing Atkins and ask them to assist you by becomeing part of your Atkins support network as Dr Atkins instructed us to in DADNR. once i told somebody at my church dinners i couldn't have the foods offerred i had over a hundred Atkins assitants stopping folk from even getting serving spoons of high carb stuff near my plate. really made me feel warm inside knowing they cared enough about me to speak up before i even had a chance to say no thank you.

EVeryone here at work is really really cool about me being on Atkins, and supportive, Still.......

THE FRIKKKKIN' FUDGE IN THE KITCHEN IS DRIVING ME BATTTTTTY! It's within 3 feet of where I have to go to get my water. I can walk past all the candy in the world, but the fudge ...oh, the fudge......

        SLAP MYSELF!

        Need pork rinds. NOW...not later..

Tomorrow we are having a baby shower and I already checked out the food....deli tray with a veggie tray also. YAY!

And maybe the fudge will be gone by then.

          Re: Office/Workplace Defense!!!

The boss keeps coming by saying, "here - have some" and having to continually say "no, thank you" is a pain. I haven't caved or anything, and I'm trying to avoid a certain person's office that has been designated as junk food central.

I'm following Cleo's mantra to stop and smell the chocolate, but that's it!

If someone asks you if you want something of theirs say, "I'd rather have your smile"... or "your hair...it's so cute!"

Turn the conversation away from food and towards a compliment to a friend. You'll make their day brighter and they'll be so flattered they'll forget they were offering you the fruityschnoozles!
