    How is everyone this weekend?

    Any special holiday parties? Its that time of year.

    We spent part of today getting the snow blower ready before there is snow out there to take care of. (And all reports say Tuesday may be the day we get some) Grocery shopping is done and tomorrow I will make a boiled dinner and bake a couple of chickens for packing lunches for the week. With this chilly weather I think a nice chicken soup is in order. It freezes up pretty well and I can leave a few servings in the freezer at work for when I dont have time to get anything else ahead.

    Made brownies today for the family. Boy did they smell great but thanks goes out to Dr Phil.......... seems he was chanting in my head the whole time I was cutting them up...... "they will taste good for a minute but will make me feel bad forever". Can you tell Im in the chapter on dealing with inner dialog? Well I tell ya that dialog was pretty insistant that I do not eat one of those brownies!

    Yup, first holiday party of the season was a holiday brunch for Garden Club. Unlike our other meetings, featuring fabulous sweets, this was a SIT DOWN AT TABLES with the featured breakfast muffins, sausage balls, cinnamon rolls and hot cider. MMMMMM, it smelled good, but I had preplanned with having eggs for breakfast, so I took a sliver of quiche and almost indulged in a sausage ball until I realized it probably had plenty of white flour in it. So I sat down and had a great time with my friends while they told me the whole idea behind losing weight is to count calories.


    OK. Usually I can just skip the brunch thing by just mingling and no one is the wiser. Too bad they made us sit at tables! I stuck out like a sore thumb but who cares? I tried Rotation Diet at 600 cal and gained weight, tried low-fat for four years and lost five pounds, then lost 57 in 9 months with this WOE. Even if others are losing counting calories and fat, fine. I'm doing what works for me and has the scientific studies behind it.

    And I'm down four pounds. I'm jazzed! Bring on the rest of the parties, they don't scare me! (WELL, not much.)
