  • Your Non-Scale Victories

Sometimes, it's just enough to get through and not worry about the weight loss so much as the hangin on, day by day.

So what are some of your recent NSV's? What have you overcome? What obstacles have you leapt with a single bound? What evil donuts have you smitten down with your Atkins DANDR by your side?

Do your pants fit better? Did you influence a friend positively? Did someone pay you a generous compliment?

Let's celebrate the small victories in life.

My one big NSV has been the middle of the night snacking. Not that I still don't get up or have trouble sleeping, I just don't reach for a bite of something anymore...I drink some water and then back to sleep.

I'm feeling great that I've conquered that horrible habit

You're too humble... you also served as a kick-butt Drill Assistant in a Boot Camp, too! You work it honey.

Thanks Cleo I just didn't think of Boot Camp as "my" NSV...but if I were some help to one or all of the recruits, then you have a good point..it was a victory

I dont wake up in the morning and automatically head for the fridge.

This in itself is a huge victory for me!

                    Re: Your Non-Scale Victories

I guess my biggest NSV happened just recently. When we moved to Germany in June we had to leave my 16-year-old cat with my parents due to a heart murmur. This cat was my first "baby"! He was there for me through 9 military moves and 5 miscarriages. His long life ended on December 6th.

I am devastated, but this is the first time I didn't eat to try to make myself feel better (unlike after my miscarriage this April when I dove headfirst into a container of frosting and stayed there).

Suddenly I feel like Wonder Woman! (ok... a slightly ageing WW!) The only trouble is... my skin tight costume is all saggy everywhere!

OMG, the Whooshie Fairy "is not active" What does that mean to those of us who on bended knee are sending up little prayers for visitation on a nightly bases. Oh Whooshie, do not abandon those of us who love and miss you. Oh Whooshie come back in prose and do not forsake us. Oh Whooshie, I place you above even the toothfairy, cupid and even the Easter Bunny. Oh, this is a sad sad day that we ran off the Whooshie
