I fell down the slope too, but I'm climbing back onto the mountain top. Went shopping at lunch today and have all the 'goods' ready. There's no telling what my weight is, but I don't plan to weigh because it won't be pretty.

Let's see if we can keep on the straight and narrow through the rest of the year...we'll all feel so much better, both physically AND mentally!

I fell off, too. It is a secret, though. Today is my day one induction! I had been doing so well. I had just finished Boot Camp, too. However, I still have the tools that I learned there and I intend to use them. It wasn't wasted on me!

I am doing something new this time. I am going to do a daily journal. I am starting it today, so check me out!

rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)

Re: Alright, own up. Who fell off this week and....

                  Hi all.

I've been away from the board for nearly two weeks. It's not because I fell off the wagon, though, even though it's taken everything I have to stay on. I just acquired a new roommate, and he eats McDonald's almost every day! Everytime we go, I just want to get a chicken nugget extra value meal! But I don't. I just go home and eat something from the fridge. Everytime we go grocery shopping, I want to buy stuff that I know I shouldn't be having. I never end up buying the stuff...I just end up whining. I've gone almost 4 months without whining about this woe, but I just started taking birth control and gained 3lbs in one week..and only lost 1 of them last week. So now I'm back up to 191. This is getting hard. During all of the holiday lunches and dinners out, I just get jealous, jealous, jealous that others can eat what they want and I can't or I will be back up to 215lbs. Also, I'm embarrassed to exercise in front of my new roommate (OK, I'll admit, we're more than just roommates)...he says "Don't be embarrassed!" He wants me to succeed and has been helping me stay on track, but it's just getting so hard! Especially having gained weight. I think what I need to do is take a few steps back and do a clean induction. Maybe that will get some of the cravings out of here, and help me take off some of the pounds that I gained from (presumably) the birth control. I don't know...does anyone have any ideas for me?

                    Stefanie,

I think asking your roommate to stop his McD habit is the way to go. If he wants to help you stay on track, as you said, he shoukd actively encourage your food choices.

I think having a few days on induction level eating and lots of water could be a good idea. And hand your roomate that copy of DANDR

HAHAHA, I wish my roommate would go on Atkins, because he has terrible acid reflux, and so did I, until I started this woe. He would never do this woe, though, and really doesn't need to. He eats all kinds of carbs and is still gorgeous and a good weight. He has very high metabolism. I wish he would eat more veggies though. He never eats any

Stephanie, it is tough to be strong, but let me tell you it's 100 times worse to fall off the plan and then climb back on. Once you give yourself permission to cheat, its so easy to do it again and again. So stay strong my friend.

Hi, so glad to see that I am not the only cheater. I felt so bad, I did not even want to post (maybe, somehow, you could see me cheating - LOL).
As you can see (in my siggy), I am planning on going back on induction on the 1st of Jan. No use me trying to get back on now .... with the New Years party still ahead.
I am mainly eating fruits - all the nice summer fruits not allowed on this WOE - as you know, it is summer here in SA. Must say, so far I have not gained back any of the 9 pounds lost so far!! Not sure how long this will last though!! Hope until I can back on the wagon on the 1st.
Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed New Year.

Tania, 1 January is fine. But try to stay away from those nasty white carbs, flour, sugar, potatoes, etc. Give yourself the best start that you can

                              Hi Desertthorn,
That is what I am trying to do, only eating fruits and the occasional baked potatoe
I must say, that I've been keeping up with my exercising and water. So hopefully it won't be to difficult to get back. I am actually looking forward to starting again.
