  • im back but bigger

    just thought i would say helo again im not bigjay328 anymore im bigjay 349. Its really really sad. Ive been suffering from panic disorder and depression for years and it is now at an all time high. I must get a grip ive ben eating 5 times a day and probably 3-4 times a week at chineese food buffets. My pain is so in depth i cant tell you. when i do go to the gym all i think about is having a heart attack. im so sick of this... the last time i felt in control was on atkins in 2001. so i just thought id say hello again and gonna take one day at a time. I am a food addict that must change. Im just worried because my blood pressure is high and my cholesterol was 212!!!!! is this really bad should i start anyway! help... im at my last rope. good luck to all.

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

          Welcome Jay...I feel your pain and know you are NOT ALONE. Food was also my comfort for the pain that I was feeling. Ya know what.....it didn't help....the pain was still there....probably worse cause I was getting bigger and bigger. I can't tell you what made the switch click in my head....but it did. Food is for FUEL not for comfort. It's not a friend to me...it's a FUEL for my body. Aslo...if you can exercise at all....even a little movement...that will help you. And ya know what....you CAN eat five times a day. Just eat the correct foods for this WOL. Again...welcome..and know you are NOT alone in this venture. It's a new year.....let's you and I become some big losers

            welcome bigjay! Atkins shoudln't make your cholesterol any higher, so don't worry about that. If you are worried about it you can try to eat chicken and fish as your main source of protein rather than red meat. You'll be fine!

            I hear you on the depression - sometimes you just have to wake up one day and say that you're going to change one thing about your life. For me, oddly enough, fixing my eating habits tends to help me fix everything else. No idea why that is, but I'm not complaining! Good luck!

              We are all cheering for you Jay. I try to tell myself each sacrifice of food I make at the moment- Is one sacrifice closer to my goal.
              No matter how good it tastes- It can't taste as good as me on the beach this summer. That's worth all the food in the world.

                  Gaining control over what you eat is one of the few things in life that you CAN do if you plan and prepare for it.

                  And if you can manage that first 14 days you know you will be feeling better in yourself and about yourself

                    welcome back! I hear you about the panic, that's something I've been working through this past year myself. I hope you're seeing someone to talk about it, it makes a world of difference.

                    As far as Atkins goes, if a Dr. has given you the go ahead, I'd jump in with both feet! Atkins is the ONLY thing I've had control over this year, and that part feels pretty darn good.

                        Welcome back jay. I amglad to see you found your way back.Sounds like you have some health problems,but as you already know this WOE will help you out with them. YOu already took the first step. Now it is just one step at a time and you will get to your destination. The nice thing is we are all stepping together. You can and will do this and feel much much better before you know it
