Re: Hi all - I'm back

Hey girlfriend, its so great to have you back with us. Email me your address and Ill send you some of the great lowcarb food I have found since being home. LOL (Sorry I don't think the ice cream will make it though. LOL)
You have always been an inspiration to so many of us, and while we don't talk about it much, stress really does have an adverse affect on our weight loss. If you ever get a vacation go up to Mt Koya and spend a few days with the Monks there, talk about peaceful. They are vegetarian but except for the rice, most of the food was legal, fresh fruit and veggies. Unfortunately when I left I was craving carnage bigtime.
I am cheatfree 9 days now, which tells you something. Charter member of STAC! LOL
    Welcome back

Re: Hi all - I'm back

Hi all. Thanks so much for the warm welcome back. I really appreciate it.
Well, I guess I will use this space to update old friends and introduce myself to new.

My name is Pam (or Pammie) I am originally from Michigan but have been living here in Japan for the last 11 years (I really can't believe it has been that long!) Japan is the land of the extremely small, skinny, petite! Even when I was at my smallest which was somewhere between an american size 12-14, I was a 3X-4X here in Japan, so that is frustration right there.
I had been a teacher here, teaching English in an elementary school. But I quit that last April and began working for a Major Japanese Automomile Manufacturer (the one that starts with H!) I am an interpreter for their engineering/testing department. So that is where a lot of stress came in last year. 1st the job itself was hard for me because I know nothing about cars, and suddenly I had to know everything, all the technical jargon, all the car parts and tools in 2 langauges! 2nd it was my first time ever working in a company. I had always worked in a school where I was in total charge of my class and classroom activities, suddenly I was just a face and desk amongst about the 500 here in my office. And 3rd it is about 99% men, Japanese men here which if you know anything at all about the domineering Japanese man culture, you understand that is some stress. Add to that the fact that my mother has been in and out of the hospital with heart surgeries over the last 6 months and I guess you can see where I have been the past year.

It is funny, back when I was a moderator/poster if someone had made a post like mine about stress leading to eating, I would have told them to get ahold of their food, to take control. I would have told them that binging was not that answer and would only lead to more pain and stress. Then I would have secretly told myself that I would never let that happen to me. I was wrong. I hope I can bring my new experiences to the board and give some good advice.....and learn a thing or two, too.

Lynne, I will happily send you my address. But I think for now at least I will lay off the low-carb foods. Once I am back into my clothes and can think about maintenance I will be begging you them!

hahha 2big, never changes! I knew you would be here about exercise pretty soon. I would like to get back into Pilates, I really enjoyed my pilates for dummies tape. So I was thinking about using that as my main and alternating maybe with some WATP to spice it up and give me some cardio too.

                          oh god her!!!
actually I do want to start that again, but I haven't excerisized in a few months, so I think I need to ease back into it. Starting straight out with SIS just might kill me!
