  • Checking in with the new inductees

    How is your weekend going?

    Induction flu over?

Increased energy awaits you if it hasnt already hit!

For some, the weekend brings on different challenges as you are not in your usual week day routine. For me, planning a really special meal on the weekend helps. Say a nice big steak and caesar salad on the side as opposed to my week day hamburgers/chicken & tuna salads/eggs etc...

Come and post to get thru it or post to share your ongoing success with induction~

THAT is what STAC is for!

Re: Checking in with the new inductees

Hi everyone. Day 6 & I finally feel better YEAH!! I finally have energy I cleaned the kitchen & vacuumed & mopped the floors it feels really good. I was sooo tired yesterday I was just hoping the energy would come today & it did.

I agreee with you Terry I am going to the store to get something special to eat tonight. I am going to try to duplicate a dish I've had at one of my favorite mexican restaurants. It is prawns wrapped in like 1/2 a piece of bacon and then you can dip it into melted butter with some garlic & chilli pepper flakes in it & saut'eed mushrooms. Mmmm!

Re: Checking in with the new inductees

Day 5. Only lost 2.5 lbs but I know I am eating WAY MORE cheese than 3 to 4 ounces. I need to step up!

I am hungry all the time, but my craving for carbs aren't that bad.

      Keep on keeping on

        Day 4 for me!

Feeling great. No induction flu at all, and I'm already beginning to get to that stage where I don't have to eat HUGE portions 10 times a day to feel satisfied....YEAH ME!
And the best thing is, yesterday I served bisquits to my mom, and even though they looked good and smelled fantastic, I didn't even touch them!
I had my handful og pork rinds!

Dewdropinn.....hehe....cheese is my problem food also. YUM.

sugargirl..... Yay on the energy! And those shrimp sound wonderful...... just may have to try that sometime (soon!)

dew ......... cheese will hold you back. Does me when I dont keep it in check. But for now if it gets you thru the carb cravings its better than losing it all together. Once the ketosis really kicks in though you'll want to be sure and reign yourself in on that cheese. 2.5# is a good loss for you at the weight you are.... Im sure you will be happy at the end of your 2 week induction!

Elmark ............ Sounds like you are coming into ketosis. You are over the hump!! Congrats on forgoeing the biscuits!

            Thanks Terry....

And today we went to a family birthday where they served lots of white bread and some cold cuts to go on top.....Yum....had roast, eggs and shrimps and ham! Everybody looked at me for leaving the bread on the plate, but nobody said anything!

It sounds like most of us are doing great....maybe because we know how to do, we just have to get back into the game...

One benefit of being a STAC member is that you have gone down the low carb path before and have a bit more knowledge as you begin this time.

And rule number one is: You just have to get back in the game. Some of us have to white knuckle it thru a few days and others seem to breeze thru but it does come down to the old Nike ad:

              Just do it~

Re: Checking in with the new inductees

Only day 2 for me and so far so good. Cheese is also an issue for me as well....but I find an egg with a bit of mayo helps if I'm craving cheese and have eaten my daily limit.

It still amazes me that even after just 2 days my cravings for carbs has diminished a lot...not completely yet, bit it's certainly controllable!

Thanks Terry! How much does one serving of string cheese have? Anyways, I did pretty good today with the cheese intake today. Woo hoo!

Hi everyone...guess I am a new inductee. I am on Day 1 today. I spent yesterday cleaning out the junk from my house, and preparing for this week. Cooked a full atkins meal for my lunch today and that felt good. I love cooking but haven't done it for awhile (too many instant meals out there).

                      So anyway, here I go...again!

Re: Checking in with the new inductees

Hey all. I agree with everyone about cheese, it is my weakness as well. I know I went over on the cheese the first couple of days when I was constantly hungry, but like Terry said it got me thru. Now on day 7 I'm not as hungry as I was & I've gone strict on the cheese today & it hasn't been hard. Hopefully I'll start to see more weightloss.

The shrimp turned out well but had to cut back on the bacon it was a little too much. Just taking a slice and crumbling it into the butter sauce would be good or without the bacon is good also.

Congrats on turning away those bisquits Elmark!

Hello all. Day 7 cheat free for me!! yay.

I am not weighing until day 15 when I do my measurements. I had some probs with the cheese too, so I drank more water. I am hovering between 110 and 160 oz of water a day. Keep up the good work all. and thank you Terry for checking on us all like you do.

Just checking in here. I am on day three. I kept falling off on the week-end, so this time I thought I would start on Saturday.

It worked for me. I am fully prepared for the week ahead and moving right along.

I am glad to hear that everyone else is also staying focused. Day Seven. Good for you all.
