  • Feel a little ashamed

Hello everyone! i hope my old friends are doing well and keeping up with OWL. I have been here and there and everywhere.... except doing atkins... i have gained almost all of the weight i had lost previously last year. which was almost 60 pounds... in which i have become extremely depressed and i feel like i can't even walk out of the house without people staring at me. So the other day i got fed up and started back onto induction yet again. im starting here on day 3 and have lost one pound. I know that everyone here really is a huge help and inspiration to me and everyone else that comes here. But i still feel ashamed that i gained almost all of my weight back, ESPECIALLY knowing how well this works. But hopefully soon that will change and that scale will start moving down again and FOR GOOD.

Good luck to all the new ones and people re-starting and in my case re-re-re-re-re-re-re-starting dont give up on me!

Do not feel bad,be thankful you are on a way of life that will work. You also have experience at it. Many people go thru life never finding solutions, thanks to Atkins you know what to do. Look at last year as a great learning experience. You know first hand what not to do.

        Re: Feel a little ashamed

Welcome back! This is a new year and a new chance to change your way of eating. You know Atkins works, so we don't have to convince you, but you need to get and stay in the right place mentally to make this work. I, like you, have re-re-re-re-re started and re-started again on 1/3/06. You're not alone in that. Make sure to get plenty of support, re-read the book, drink your water, exercise, etc.

Welcome back and Happy Low Carbing!!!

There's nothing to be ashamed of. I've backslid too and it's not something I'm proud of, but I am all geared up to do this and I'll take 1 pund wherever I can get it. You are going to do well this year. Have faith.

                  Re: Feel a little ashamed

Hey, if you feel ashamed, then every single one of us should, since we wouldn't be in this forum if we hadn't fallen off the wagon ourselves. I'm not ashamed. I'm proud that I had the good sense to get back on that wagon, and come back to ADBB where I knew that I'd find the support that I need to make it all the way to goal.

Falling off the wagon has been a real learning experience for me. I learned that no matter how many lemons life hands me, that I have to put my health first. I also learned that I can never let my guard down, and to not put a single toe on that slippery slope that would carry me back to where I used to be. I've learned that this WOE has to be a WOL, or history will repeat itself.

I'm glad you found your way back. Now YOU be proud that you did! I just know you're going to really make it for the whole distance -- for good -- this time!
                  -Chris

Rissa- I've been there. A few years ago I lost over 30lbs- then put it back on plus another 20+....
That helped me. Now I know what needs to be done- And I'm making the lifestyle change. I have a hump I need to pass- and struggled pasrt it again this time- but I did it. As I decrease in size- I'm giving all my clothes away to the Goodwill- I'm hoping this will help me develop a pattern to catch myself. I swear I will never put this weight back on again. If pants are tight it's increase excersize and strict induction.

I really think you can do it. I'll be following your progress. The second time around rocks. Welcome back!!
