  • Is there life after baby?

Hi everybody, I'm glad this forum is here. I had great success on Atkins in 2003, dropped 40 pounds then immediately got pregnant. Now I have a 13 month old and the 40 pounds back plus 35. Lovely! I am in re-induction day 3, actually the end of day 3 and already I'm tired to death of EGGS! I never have been a real big egg-eater, maybe once a month or so, so getting those eggs down is hard for me. I'm not a real big meat-eater either lol! I was a vegetarian for several years, but I ate tons of bread and pasta, so that wasn't good. I do love my chicken and turkey.
What do you all eat when you want something crunchy, like chips? I have figured out how to handle my chocolate fix and stay with the program, but I was wondering today about chips.
My most important goal is to find some way, some how, to exercise. I have the 13 month old, two 8 year olds, and a 7 year old. I work as an LPN and am going to college full time, my senior year of BSN school. I don't have any time to myself except for late, late at night. I get up at 4am just so I can shower before the baby wakes up (fussy, demanding baby). My husband works out of state so I don't have backup to get out of the house and walk even, and who on earth would babysit all my kids at the same time! I look forward to spring when the kids and I can all get together outside and get more exercise. Anyway, those are my excuses. I hate aerobics. I hate to jump up and down. I have tae-bo, aerobics, and pilates DVD's out the ying-yang, hate em all! I need some inspiration.

i have had 2 kids and my youngest is 20 months. i gained about 50 pounds with my son. it definately is possible considering last year i lost almost 60 pounds. it was great! but i fell of the wagon and havent gotten back on till now. i gained almost all of it back. but at least i know now it is possible.

as for the crunchy things, you could eat some pork rinds, or what i like to do it get some zucchini and fry it up in oil and put some parmesean on it. you can make it as crunchy as you like. its pretty good. just make sure you dont go oever your veggies limit.

as for the workout, i usually take my kids for a walk or to the park. that definately keeps me running around chasing em all. or i wait until they go to bed and clean up the house and get every nook and cranny... hehe at least its something productive.

    good luck!

When I want some crunch, I grab the lettuce, celery or pork rinds.

Walk Away The Pound tapes are pretty great for beginners, and the mile is only about 35 minutes long.
