Hi all,
Well I'm starting to feel like I'm on the Induction Merry Go Round. This is my fourth go since I first started Atkins last January.
I broke my foot(fifth metatarsal) on the 2nd of November 2005 and have put on around 7kgs (15pounds) since then
It was really getting me down, especially when the scales inched over the 80kg mark.
Anyway, the break was that bad that they have to operate and pin it on the 25th January. They had to wait for the 1.5cm piece of bone that snapped off to heal a little more as that had a couple of fractures in it. I'm so over it.
But last Monday, my friend and I took the plunge and restarted induction. As of today I've lost 6 pounds and I'm stoked, back under the 80kg mark.
And I'm determined for it to keep on going. I hated feeling miserable. Here's hoping my positive attitude stays after the operation. Not looking forward to going back to square one again, but it has to be fixed so I just have to accept it.
I was a little concerned about doing Atkins because I read somewhere that too much protein wasn't good for healing bones?
Then again neither is caffeine, alcohol, sugar and salt. So I reckon cutting out caffeine, alcohol and sugar has got to be good anyway and I'm taking really good calcium supplements so it should be all good.
Has anyone had an operation whilst doing Atkins?
