I had to make myself eat dinner tonight-I felt like I totally lost my usually ravenous appetite. I like this! I don't have carb cravings today, not even for chocolate. Come to think of it, I didn't crave carbs yesterday, either. Huh. Well I do have a question today that I haven't seen addressed anywhere yet. I have 4 children and a hubby, and I already have to fix the baby a "separate" meal each meal to suit his stage of having only 5 teeth etc, now I have to fix myself a "separate" meal also because I am doing Atkins. I am wondering, when I cook a meal such as a pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and onions, I fix it all together either in the crock pot or in a roaster in the oven. I like the flavors to mingle together. In cooking this way, does the meat take on carbs from the carrots and potatoes, does anyone know? I am a nurse and I tend to mull things over in my mind down to a molecular level lol so I wonder about things like this. I would hate to be eating that yummy, tender roast, thinking I was being good, while actually chucking down tons of carbs from those taters!!! If anyone out there knows the answer, it sure would make me feel better. I'm trying to think up ways to simplify my dinner routine especially, because I have a super busy life, and being able to continue to cook meal-in-a-pot kinds of dishes would help me get on with my day. Same thing goes for my chicken-mushroom soup-stuffing one dish meal, I wonder if the chicken would absorb carbs from the soup and stuffing, even if I ate only the chicken.
