  • How's everyone doing? update thread!

    Hi folks-

    I've noticed a lot of people posting that they're starting this week, or have been for a few weeks, etc... Thought it might be nice to hear from people as to how they're doing.

    As for me, I started on the 6th, and didn't do very well the first few days. Got my act together on the tenth and have been doing well ever since! i've lost 6.5 pounds so far.

    how's everyone else doing?

    Started for real on January 2. Lost 7.5 lbs so far. Dying for carbs but not bad enough to sabotage this WOE. I'm still not exercising, though, that was supposed to start yesterday. I promise I will start today.

    I still feel like a fat blimp even though I'm less blimpy than before Atkins.

      Started back on Jan 3, have lost 15 lbs so far !! probably due to the fact I have not had a BEER since I started back (going to be really hard during the Football playoff ~ GO BRONCOS !!!) Well its off to the Gym, keep up the good work everyone

        I started on Jan 2. Have lost 10 pounds as of Monday. Started week 3, staying on induction, for a while, anyway.
        I'd say I've been cheat free. I suppose my biggest weak area is getting enough water. Started exercising week 2.

            Thanks, 15 lbs of water probably but I will take it !!!!

            Steelers??? Oh ya I guess the Broncos do have to play someone before going on to the Superbowl !!!

              Hi all!

              I started January 1 (like so many other "New Years Resolution" people - ha!) and I have lost 6 pounds so far. I feel great - I am a ball of energy! I know I will stick with this in the long run this time.

              The weight is coming off more slowly this time, but I am not discouraged by it one bit. Each little bit that comes off is staying off, so I am happy.

              I am grateful for this board - the mods and long-timers are so great and helpful and have all ready dished out *kicks in the rear end* (a.k.a. tough love) where I am slipping.

              I am all through with feeling icky the first week, and I am just looking forward to staying the course and getting back to good 'ol 165.

              I want to be 32 and HOT, not 32 and FAT!

                I'm on day 16, down 9 lbs! WOOHOO I'm going to stay on induction for another week or so and then start moving up the rungs (at least for the veggies). I have been really good except for some sugar free jello mixed with cream cheese--delicious, but I ate too much of it at one sitting and suffered a stall.

                I also started Slim in Six videos yesterday, so I've got two work outs done. I'm sore, but I'm going to try to stick with it.

                I've been drinking my water and taking my measurements.

                  I started induction Jan 5th. I've been really good, no cheats. I just need to exercise more. So far I've lost 9 lbs. I've decided I am too young to be so unhealthy, and I want to wear shorts this summer without looking and feeling ridiculous!!! I wish everyone continued success!!!! Brandy

                    I've been on since October and moved onto OWL this month. I've lost 25lbs as of January but will not measure/weigh until Feb 1st. I did buy some 18 pants in December that form fit very nicely. I wore them again today and they still fit nicely but I did find that they are starting to loosen up around the waist. They are stretchy so they are tighter the first 10 minutes of wear but I still could feel slight looseness in the waist! It's nice because I really haven't been a complete saint with the WOE, but close enough I guess.

                      I started (again) on Jan 9th. I'm only down 4 lbs but I'll take it! I just want to make goal by my 50th birthday in July, or at least be within a few lbs.


                      I wish everyone good luck on this journey. We can do this! This is the healthy way!

                          Well I am wondering when I'm going to get into ketosis! This is day 10 for me and still have lost only that 5 pounds I lost in the first 3 days. My ketostix still show only a trace. I am exercising and have gotten downright addicted to my water! >sigh< I want this so bad, but I really expected at least a couple more pounds by now.

                            If your ketostix are showing anything, then you are in ketosis. If you drink a lot of water it dilutes the ketones in the urine, so you won't see it dark. I woudln't recommend not drinking water though! But just know that if you see ANY change, then you're in ketosis.

                            As to why you're stalled - maybe you can give us a couple days worth of menus to look at? Some things stall people so maybe we can pick some out of your menu...

                              Shoecrazy you also may want to check out the "slow weight loss" stickey at the top of the forum. It may shed some light on the subject for you.

                              And by all means post some menus. There may be something you are missing.

                              Did you take measurements? That may show you a change if you did. If you havent taken them be sure to do it. When you arent losing pounds you will usually show a loss of inches as you lose sizes. This can be a life saver when you think you are stalled but find your clothes are fitting better.
