    Hi Guys .

Im on day 6. Having been feeling positive and watching the fat and calorie intake so far ( touchy sunject) Today is DANGER DAY and im not even tempted to have a glass of wine. I have gone one whole week without a tipple- chuffed to bits with myself. But concerned that im not losing fast or worried i might be putting it on, my skirt feels tighter today.

I have been an angel , the only treats i allow myself are four tablespoons cream a day and 80g of cheese split over my meals.

Do you think that this consumption is too high? Just wanted to know from anyone else out there who has been using these and is still losing. I am religious about measuring the amounts and never go over.

    I
My daily intake on avarage is this:

1 egg with butter, coffee and cream
Rocket salad with 1 egg and 50g brie
Meat 200g with 2 celery stalks and 500g mange tout, 1 tablespoon mayo

Maybe a cheese slice for a snack ( not always)

    1 cofffee with cream.

Does this look like too much

I really dont want to be doing this is its having the reverse effect

    Hi Savannah

I don't know how much help I will be. I am not familiar with your measurements. But I have a few questions that will give more insight.

    What is a Rocket salad?

How much water are you drinking? I see you have a few cups of coffee but how much water are you getting? Remember the minimum is 64 oz plus 8 oz more for every 25 lbs to lose.

Are you getting all your veggies? Are you exercising? Are you taking supplements?

There are a lot of things that could be slowing you down. These are some of them. If you think you are eating too much cheese, cut back for a week and see what happens. I know I can't eat a lot of cheese and I have to be really careful with olives because when I start eating those, I can't stop.

I'm sure we will have more peeps jumping in here soon to help you figure this out

      rocket is a sald green
some folk are sensitive to cream whichis why in Chapter 11 under specal catagory foods it has a warning aboutr slowing or stopping weight loss.

if you are eating enough food to satisfy your hunger each time you eat having your 3 cups of veggies drinking your water and doing ther mandatory exercise part of your Atkins you should be fine.

since your abdomin is slightly swollen are your bowels moving okay? if not Dr Atkins in rule 12 tells us to use psyllium, flax or wheat bran as the fixing agents.

Thanks girls. Now that you mentiuon it my bowels havent moved in week, sorry to be graphic.Suppose that could be making me bloated.

I run three times a week and try and get weights in three times a week.

As much as it pains me, almost takes the joy out of atkins for me- i have to go cold turkey on the cheese and cream for a week. Ill be here alot moaning, yikes i hope this works- thanks guys.

          Re: Cream and Cheese

since the bowels aren't moving why don't you hold off on the cutting thre dairy out and see what happens when they do move. then if you do need to cut out the dairy you can.

Fix one thing at a time so you know what fix was the "cure" for your problems.

I agree with 2big here. Also, you are quite thin at the weight you're at. The closer you are to goal the more slowly the weight comes off. Frustrating I know, but that's how it is for the majority of people. Instead of taking away anything at this time I would suggest adding something to get the pipes going again such as flax as 2big already mentioned. Hope that helps!

                Re: Cream and Cheese

It is called Linseeds in UK
you can get it from H & B but it is very expensive there!!

I buy mine from my local independant healthfood shop and it is about £2.50 for 500 grams. They sell brown linseeds and golden - I always get the golden as I think that is nicer for baking etc but some people use the brown for cereal-type recipes.

You need to grind it - I use the grinder attachment of my food processor but you can buy a coffeegrinder instead. It only takes a few minutes to grind up a jarfull which lasts me a week unless I go mad with cooking bread and buns etc.

If you decide you like it you can probably order larger quantities from your healthfood shop which is much cheaper. I bought a 5 kg pack which worked out less than halfprice of the 500g packs.

I have seen it preground in either Sainsburys or Tescos but it was about a fiver for a 500g pack!!

Apparently the preground stuff will go off if you dont refrigerate or freeze it, but I usually use my groundup linseed within a week so havent had problems with it going rancid.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
