Well here I am at the end of day 5. It feels good. I do have to say I am feeling a little more tired today. I also slipped in a diet coke today. I am trying not to have those, trying to only drink water. I know that they aren't that bad if are drinking water too, but I don't want to get addicted to them ( I was the first go round, see I am a pepsi addict and that is my way of making up for it on the low carb diet) But, I don't "cheat" at all so I am giving myself a break. I also have promised myself to stay off the scales for a few days because I am so getting addicted to the scales and I fear that when the pounds stop coming off so fast that it might become a set back for me and I don't want that. For some reason this has been a one of my hardest days I don't really want to cheat, but I need something different. I am getting bored with the food. I have trouble coming up with new ideas and honestly have a limited budget to cook on. But all in all am doing great and looking forward to another day on my atkins diet.

Re: The end of day 5
I'm proud of you Chrisie! I can't say anything I've given up has been easy, and I do occassionally have a diet coke made with splenda. Keep them to a minimum and watch out for the stalls from the caffeine and the sweetener. It has gotten much easier, and I hope it does for you too, to stay away from those things. They aren't terrible, end of the world type things, but just all around better for us without them, so much healthier! You're doing great, just keep up the exercise and drink that water too! I always hated having to look back and think to myself... what if I hadn't had that, would I have lost more?

Re: The end of day 5
thank you so much for your kind words. It is so nice to have someone else who goes through something similar. I have been drinking a lot of water. I have never been the water type. But it is growing on me. I have heard that once you get used to you it you really don't care for much else, maybe the same will go for me.

Re: The end of day 5
Oh yeah girl, diet sodas I was having at LEAST 6 a day, coffee, at least 2 pots or so a day! I had to wean myself off of that stuff! It wasn't easy, but I have to say... I feel so much better for it, and after a while you will actually start to crave the water if you drink enough of it during the day for long enough! It gets to be a good habit, one you don't have to break! YAY!Originally posted by chrisie_20thank you so much for your kind words. Re: The end of day 5
You are not alone. I am on day 4 and it is hard. This is my second time on this woe. Look in the recipe sections, there are a lot of good ideas there. It is hard to have the courage to do what you need to do to make the changes you want. It is easy to be lazy and give in and let guilt riddle you. I am very addicted to food and I get angry and I cry when I get the cravings. The thing is...I also know what failure feels like and I don't want to feel that any more. You can do this. Educate yourself with the book, drink water all the time to keep your stomach feeling full all the time. Praise yourself for your efforts and success! I am here for ya!
