  • waking up on day six

okay guys I know I said I wasn't going to get on the scale for a few days, but I told you I was addicted to it . But, I come with great news this morning I have lost another 3 pounds (I am weighing myself at the same time each day to make sure to get a semi-accurate weight), so that gives me a total of 8 pounds lost waking up on my 6th day of doing Atkins. I am so excited. Things are really going well for me this time around. Maybe God knew I needed some definite results this time to stick to it. And, maybe that is why I am sticking to it like a pro. I have not cheated not once. (when cooking I won't even use the same spoon I use to stir my husband's potatoes to stir my broccoli!) I have had 3 Diet Cokes in 6 days, which actually I am quite proud of myself for because if you have been following my story I am as a carb addict a pepsi freak...I love them and find a hard time living without them and my very first attempt at atkins I used diet cokes to cover up that need. And, although it didn't hinder my weight loss as far as I could tell ( I lost almost 50 pounds in nearly 2 months) who know what I could have lost without them right Jasmain!!! So, thanks to all of your I am all "egged" out replies I am eating on last night leftoever beef and broccoli as we type and it is quite yummy. And I know I need to kick the scale habit, but I am sure it will be easy to do when those pounds stop coming off so fast...(I know it is mostly water weight to all of you enthusiasm killers out there, but it is still weight..lol) So, I hope all of you are having as blessed of a day as I am...and good weight losing to ya.

Hi Chrisie, fellow scale addict. I vowed to stay off the scale, but haven't been able to either. Day 7 of Induction and I'm down (drum roll) 8 lbs!!! Since I'm restarting Atkins for the umpteenth time now, I haven't had Induction results like this since the first time I did it. I think what's making the difference for me is going off of coffee and seriously restricting diet soda (I've only had 2 in a week).
In the past, I would usually have a big slow down for weeks 2-5, then a major drop in week six, so I'm planning on keeping to induction until week 6. And this time I'm doing my measurements too, to keep me motivated when the scale freezes. Have you measured yet? Maybe we can break the scale addiction by becoming measuring addicts instead? LOL!

I promised myself I'd never see 200 on the scale again!

there's guidelines about what/where to measure at www.mybodycomp.com
and you can keep track of your progress there too. You need one of those measuring tapes, like are used for sewing. It's good to measure, because even when the scale doesn't move, the inches keep coming off.

You are doing AWESOME Chrissie! Love the attitude, it will get you far!
I am having a great day six, but I woke up with a headache today, I am assuming it is allergies due to the yellow dusting of pollen that now covers everything outside in the mornings. Still it makes me happy, because I know that spring has arrived and all of our flowering shrubs and trees are going to be beautiful in a couple of weeks!
Have to go search of my dinner recipe.
          Will post again later.

thanks guys you are so supportive in the past because I didn't know how to measure I just went by like what size I was in and how it fit...probably not no where near as accurate and confidence boosting but helped some. I do have a sewing type measuring tape so there is a plus just have to know where to measure now...like what part of your stomache would you measure..below your belly button? above? do you measure your thighs or calves? is it best to get someone else to measure you? I am thinking of joining curves and they measure you there so there may be an idea...anyone else a member there?
