  • Getting a little discouraged

I have only lost 11 pounds in my month back on Atkins. I am cheat free and counting oh so carefully. I would have thought that I would have lost much more by now since I have so much to lose. I am measuring, and am down 2" in my waist and 2 1/2" in my hips, but my pants don't know that. I went and bought some ketosis strips today and it was very dark. Am I expecting too much or is there something else that I should be doing?

Oh, I do exercise by walking. I am planning on joining Curves as soon as I get cleared from my doc. I was pregnant and had preeclampsia and my blood pressure wouldn't go back to normal. I see him tomorrow and I'm hoping he'll give me the go ahead.

    Thanks!
    Jamie

I think you are doing great so far! Don't get discouraged. Just keep paying attn. to your measurements and go hide that scale and don't bring it out for a while. You are moving ing the right direction. Keep up with your water. Drinking the water is extremely important. Don't look at how much wt. you have to lose. Take it little bit at a time. One day at a time. Look at doing 10 lbs at a time. Those 10lbs at a time will lead you right where you want to be. Pat yourself on the back for your hard work. Keep up the good work!

Don't get discouraged. Just keep doing what you're doing and you will lose. This is a WOL so there is no rush.

I know it is dicouraging when we don't get the results we want, but just keep going and you will see those pounds come off. One question, how long has it been since you have had your baby. The second time I done Atkins (this is my third) was right after I had my baby and the scale wouldn't budge. Just wondering if the hormones not being stabalized yet might have a little bit of a factor here..anyone else have an opinion on that?

11 lbs. in a month is just great! For me, I often lose in weeks 1-2, then the scale freezes until about week six, where I see another significant drop on the scale. That DARNED SCALE! (Fellow scale addict here: there's nothing like the validation of watching that number go down, is there?) Are you measuring? Often the inches will keep coming off when the scale doesn't move. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing.

I promised myself I'd never see 200 on the scale again!

OH you are doing sooo Awesome 11 Pounds is nothing to scoff at WOW way to go. In my first 2 months on Atkins I lost 12 Pounds and Like you I was sooo discouraged I guess it Just took longer for my body to go past the initial weight loss and Adjust. Have you read the stickey on Post induction Stall Syndrom it starts around week 3 and can continue as I found up to 6 weeks. The good news is. When that was done I lost 17 pounds in 3 weeks after that was done so I lost all the weight I would have the Month I didn't lose anything and Extra. Keep on going try not to be discouraged you are doing great Most of us have been where you are now Just be strong.
