Induction -- Day Eight -- Week Two Begins

    Hey Buddies!

I wanted to get our little thread started for today, but will go back and reply to Day Seven when I get done here.

I'm still feeling sick so I'm staying home from work today and will probably go back to bed after posting and I get Matt off to work.

You are the BEST! I'm so proud of each one of you for sticking with your plan and staying on course -- even when facing some pretty sticky temptations!! I can see you have a lot of determination and that you are all winners!!! It won't be long and we'll be at the end of Induction and then have to decide the path we want to take -- Extended Induction or OWL. As we breeze through this week we'll see where it all takes us.

Best wishes for a BEAUTIFUL day!

You are such a great leader kat...thanks...my week has already gone by so fast..honestly it hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be...I have already chosed to do extended because I want the weight loss to keep coming off a little faster than if it would if I switched. It is a little tougher and you have less of a variety, but I think if I am going to meet my goal it is a must don't you?

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet -- I'm trying to weigh it out. I think Brook (http://www.brookjay.net/melting.html) said that she stayed on Induction for a month and then moved on to OWL. Last time I was on Induction we (Matt & I) stayed on it for two months -- he was getting tired of the food, so I should have switched over to keep him motivated.

I have quite a bit to lose and I don't want to lose too quickly since it causes saggy skin, but I am in this for the long-haul and want to learn better eating habits for life.

I should know something by the end of the week on which direction I'll take. I'm not rushing to decide yet -- I just want to enjoy each day as it comes until then.

Thanks for your nice words. I'm just glad that when I started Induction that there were a few other people doing it at the same time. That is motivating for me rather than going it alone. It is good to have buddies!

Keep up the good work! You're doing fantastic!!

Is that what causes the saggy skin? Is there any way to prevent that? I know this might sound vain, but do you know about how much it cost to have the excess skin removed?

            Good Morning Induction Buds,

I am feeling better today, thank you. I have yet to take my allergy pill, but I will as soon as I am off of here.

It is great to be one week in already. I feel pretty in control. Too bad I did not think about this weeks dinners over the weekend. I need to get something out of the freezer now. And of course tonight is one of those nights where I need to have dinner prepared by 4:00, so we can heat it up in a jiffy as the family trickles back in from their various activities.

I have pretty much decided to stay on induction for two more weeks after this and then try out the OWL's I have never used them before, so I will need to get my book out and get ready. I now know I have to use the OWL's to make this WOE a lifetime thing.
How silly we are to think we can figure this WOE out on our own, when Dr. Atkins has so generously and neatly laid it all out for us in DANDR!

I'm so glad everyone here, is doing so well. You all motivate me tremendously and I look forward to seeing your post's everyday!!!

Does anyone know where you can find Xanthan Gum???

            WATER~WATER~WATER!!!!!!

What a trooper you are KKAT, waking up while sick to keep our thread going. I still haven't weighed in yet, maybe tonight at the gym because I want to use the same scale for every official weigh in. I may stay on induction for a whole month depending on how the next week goes.

On a side not, you know you are living the Atkins life when you had baked fish for breakfast. Very tasty I must add.

I'm here with you all for day 8. I'm feeling terrible today, major headache. I took an allergy pill just to see if that is what is causing it, though I think it's too early in the year for where I live. We still have snow on the ground!
Anyway, I'm muddling through today, didn't exercise because of the pounding head, but trying to keep up on my water.
                    Hang in there everyone!

That's alright I am secure in my manhood. In fact I am going to go lift something heavy real quick to prove it...................................

Urban, I'm sorry you have to deal with a headache this morning. I really hope it will go away fast! I'm also sorry you have snow. I also hope it will go away fast! I am originally from upstate N.Y. so I know all about the long winters and late springs. Nope, don't miss'em! But, you will have a greener and more lush lawn than I will, so eh, that's somethin!

                        Feel better soon friend!

Donky, I saw you lift that very heavy object! WOW...you are not just a man, but a HE-MAN! I'm glad you find your emotional support here with us.

Ok, I have been very bad example. Today I got so caught up in these here boards, that I didn't get busy with my work, so then I jumped up and started getting to work and now it is after noon, and I haven't eaten yet! I must say I am impressed that I don't have an appetite, but I know that it is soooo wrong to go this long without eating.

I'll do better, I promise. After all I am tryin2lose!!!!!!!!

Our Dearest Kat, I hope you are getting some much needed rest and will be back on your "lighter" feet very soon.
George Stella on Food Network, has a soup called Mamma Stella's Strachiatella. I have no idea how that is spelled. It is like an egg drop soup. I think it would be good for you, so mayby your guy can look it up on the foodnetwork.com under George Stella or Low Carb and Lovin It and make it for you. If I knew how to put the link on here for you I would!!!
                          Feel better sweetie!

I am going for my first official weigh in tonight before my workout at the gym. I am hoping for some good results, but I am realistic and will be happy with any loss. My ketosis sticks have been showing a very dark purple since day 2, so I know I have been burning fat.

I'll report back later tonight with the results either way.

Donky, your ketostix was purple on day two?? Jeez, that would have given it away that you were a guy!! That happens to my husband too. Not FAIR!
Good luck tonight at the gym weighing in!! Can't wait to hear the results!!!
