    Induction -- Day Eleven! Thursday!

Can you believe that we are almost through ANOTHER whole week of INDUCTION? Woo Hoo!!!

I'm up in the wee hours of the morning 'cause I was having a coughing spell (all the symptoms aren't over yet). Matt had over 100 degrees fever again and was feeling really bad tonight (Wednesday night) so we went to bed around 7 pm (I had a headache so I didn't mind). I slept until just a little while ago -- I was getting warm and a little antsy then the coughing thing started so I thought I'd get up and check and see what was going on here.

Oh, I put up a poll (you can see it if you click "portal" in the toolbar above) to see how long some of the veterans did Induction. I haven't made up my mind about staying another week or two or going into OWL yet. I told myself I'd wait until this weekend -- and now it is fast approaching and I haven't finished reading around the boards or the book yet. I wanted to read more in Dr. A's book about Induction and OWL before I decided also.

I hope everyone is doing fine. I hope Urban's headaches are gone and that you're finally enjoying being on Induction.

I'm wondering if it is too early for me to start exercising again since I'm still coughing and wheezing some? I'm starting to feel ready to go again, but am not sure if I should get overheated yet...hum...?

Yawl remember the old TV show called, "Highway to Heaven"? Well, I saw it was out on DVD for about $40 and looked high and low and found it on Amazon for $17 so got it. (My parents used to watch it.) I have watched a few episodes and, yes, it is one of those sappy, but sweet programs. It is very heart-warming and I usually end up with a smile on my face in the end. (hee hee -- just thought I'd tell you.)

Then the week before I got a copy of "Comfort and Joy" from www.half.com (the best price I found) and thought it was another movie (and it wasn't -- wrong movie) but ended up being another sweet, heart-warming story that I hadn't seen before. It was a Lifetime movie on DVD. Anyone ever seen that one? It had Dixie Carter in it (from Designing Women)?

Well, I had another little coughing spell...I'm going to run in the kitchen and get some more water and a (sugar-free) cough drop. I might as well mosey on back to beddie.

I'll see ya in the morning!

          Mornin' Everyone,

Love the induction day 14 banner. Hope everyone is off to a great start today. I'm a little on the slow side today myself.

Katt, as far as the birthday thing goes, my only plan is to try to cut and/or serve the cake. It usually works well. By the time you're finished serving everyone, some one is bound to be finished and then you start helping clean up the plates and napkins. So that is my trick. Usually works pretty well.

Hey everyone, I'm here. I worked late last night and have been pretty busy this morning, but I'm here with ya! This morning I made some flax-o-meal to get things moving along, if you know what I mean.

Anyone try flax yet? I sometimes put it in my meatloaf in lieu of breadcrumbs. Anyway, it was a nice break from eggs and bacon.

I'm doing better with the headaches, drinking lots of water and paying close attention to my supplements.

I haven't been hungry at all, which is a double-edged sword I guess. I'm using my lack of appetite to pay closer attention to the amount and type of fats I'm consuming, making sure I don't overdue it. Unchecked, I could easily eat WAAAYYYY too much cheese and salad dressing.

I also got up this morning and did some cardio and tried to make a little dent in the ab challenge I signed up for. I didn't exercise last time around, and I know that I really need to incorporte that daily. It's really the hardest thing for me.

As for owl, I'll probably move on and add a bit more veggies. I lost well on OWL last time, as long as I stayed away from stall foods, which for me are all of the "sugar alcohol" goodies out there. Tryin to stay natural this time.

              Hey Little Buddy!!

I'm glad you're here!! How'd it go at work last night?

I've made the flax crackers before and ate one with breakfast (dipped in my egg and it was good) and I've also used it to bread our minute steaks to make "country fried steaks" and it turned out pretty good -- I just need to add more seasonings next time.

How are the leg cramps and the insomia? Any better?

You've done really well with your exercise, it seems. Yeah for you!!

Best wishes for one of our last days of our two weeks' Induction! (whew!)

                  Hey Buddy!

I was browsing around last night when I couldn't sleep and found the link with the banners...so I thought it was kind of cute too and posted it.

Hum...at my MIL's her daughter (my SIL) will be in from Alaska so I'm sure one of them will be taking charge of everything like that since it will be at their house. So, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that yet, but I still have another weekend or two to worry about it.

Well, I hope you are having a great low-carb day too!!

Well, I can tell I'm feeling better -- I'm posting more!!

How is everyone else doing? Are you peppy and energetic today or is it one of those blah days?

I can't believe how far we've come. Just a week and a half ago we were just starting and looking ahead to the worst (Induction Flu). Now that is all behind us and we're now looking to finish Induction and continue our journey in weight loss and living healthier.

Wow! It has had its ups and downs these two weeks, but it has been a pleasure because YOU were here going along this journey with me. I want to let each of you know how much I appreciate you posting with me and encouraging me (and each other) when we started this process. For me it made the journey much more easier because I looked forward to you being there each day. I think you are the GREATEST!!

Hi, glad to see that everyone is here and accounted for. No one has disappeared since the beginning have they?
Everyone seems to be doing great too. It's really great we were all able to stick with it.
                        I'll be back after awhile.
                        Bottoms Up!

Re: Induction -- Day Eleven! Thursday!

I'm not sure what day of Induction I'm in, but looking at my Journal, I would say Day 10 or so. Due to 'irregularity' it looks like I'm up nearly 2 lbs to 205. Grrr. I've even upped the water to about 145 oz or so but probably stalled/stopped up because I'm not doing any aerobic exercises. I am doing Callanetics, however, and feel wonderful. This is just temporary, I know, so I'm going to continue to eat as normally and eventually my body will figure it out.

                          Good work, everyone!

I'm doing really well. Since I upped my calcuim and magnesium supplements, I haven't had any leg cramps. And no headache today! whoo-hooo! I'm actually really looking forward to the weekend and our monday measurements/weigh-in, even though TOM is due on Saturday.
Jackie Blue, welcome to our little induction crew. I've been down and up on the scale this week, but I know that it's because of TOM coming. Remember, we don't have to lose the weight FAST, we just have to lose it ONCE. Good luck, and start measuring yourself, because the inches will keep droping when the scale freezes (or even goes up a few lbs.)

Have you tried the flax seed meal for your "irregularity"? There are several recipes on the board if you haven't. Let me know and I'll try and dig some up for you.

After you finish your two weeks were you going to go into the Ongoing Weight Loss phase of Atkins or stay on Extended Induction?
