    Okay let me make my question a little more clear. Can you go without the salad veggies. I really can't afford them unless they come in the frozen section or the canned isle? I am just not sure if I am slowing my weight loss because of this, but I ALWAYS stay under my 20 carbs and often a pretty good bit under the 20. So, what I am asking is as long as you eat what is on the food list and stay under the 20 does it really matter what you eat?

      I shop at a Korean grocery store for my meat. It may possibly be made out of cat, but it is cheaper than Giant.

      Also, tons of supermarkets have good deals on frozen veggies. I often can get 4 bags of green beans for $4 and stock wayyyy up.

        No problems Chrisie, I didn't think you were being rude. Thanks Elizellen for the salad list. You're the best, and you live in one of the most beautiful areas in the world.

        Chrisie, I'm not quite sure if you are asking if you can do without salad. Peppers, celery and mushrooms are on the salad list, and they are great in sauces or stir-frys. So I guess you can eat salad veggies a different way. I have seen frozen peppers, and mushrooms, also tinned mushrooms, and celery is usually quite inexpensive and makes a great snack with cream cheese.

        It really is important to try to get in all of your veggies. Once again I don't have my book with me, but I think it says that at least half of your 20 carbs should come from veggies. I have been reading posts on this board for 2 years, and there are alot of people that find that their stalls can be broken by drinking their water and eating their veggies. Some people will break a stall by going into the first rung of OWL which is add more veggies. Of course YMMV, and you have to see how your body reacts to these things.

        Killerbomb has a great point about the Asian stores. I have seen fresh veg there at a great price. I buy my basil, mint and cilantro there, and I pay 1/3 of the price for 10 times as much as I would get at a regular store. Most of the products there I can't read the label, but I know what basil and other herbs look like.

          yes you guys help so much, and I didn't think any of you were being rude, just helpful...I absolutely forgot that mushrooms counted as a "salad" vegetable! That is great! Thank you so much!
