  • A new tool for success

I watched a substance abuse seminar last night. They mainly talked about quitting cigarettes. But...There 'tool' was so good, that I immediately revised it to be used here. The tool is a ticket (3x5 card with writing on it) (Carry your ticket with you wherever you go)

This 'ticket' allows you to eat and accept responsibilty for what you've eaten. The trick is that each time you are tempted...you take out the card and you must read it first.

    It says:

I like _(name of food)___. I can eat it if I want. I am accepting the responsibility and the consequences that my decision will bring. It is my decision to jeopardize my plan to get healthy and fight against depression, self-esteem, diabetes, heart disease, longer life and whatever else obesity brings. I realize and accept the fact that this food might bring on cravings for other non-legal foods, add inches and weight and lead me away from my new life-style. But it is my decision.

At this time, you've given yourself permission to eat it. It is your choice. They said that 50% of the people who do this will decline and choose to stay on plan. I've already made my card and although I don't know if I will have to use it, it is there in case I need it.

I know that I am not immune to food. It is always there and always tempting me. I can and will use any 'tool' that I can to keep the ~fat woman~ from ever returning.

It's a great idea!!! Thanks for sharing...but it makes me think...

Isn't it crazy that we can't do this with our own complex brain, and have to carry a little card around?

I know for myself that it's almost impossible to put the brakes on when I'm craving food, I really have to distract myself from the idea...but this little card seems really handy to have around.

I totally agree. If only we could be hypnotised into saying this speech automatically every time we think about foods that are dangerous to our WOE. My girlfriend went a step further and taped her FAT PHOTO to the back of the card. Now she has double the help to keep her from eating what she knows she shouldn't.

Thanks so much for this super great idea. I am jumping back on KISS today after falling off. I never went off of induction, but BLEW kiss big time.

I will re write my journal entry about how aggrivated I was when the scale jumped up. Thanks so much for this really great idea. You are always so helpful
