  • A 2nd-Timer with 37 pounds down

So, I did Atkins about 6 years ago and lost 30 pounds. However, I got involved with an old flame who tapped into my insecure "you don't deserve to be loved" side and, guess what, the pounds came back on. Grrrrrr. So, slowly over the past 2 years, I lost 20 pounds. Then in February, I decided to hop back on the Atkins bandwagon. Well, 17 pounds are off and gone and down the drain! So is the old flame!!!

I had an interesting episode of induction flu (really wigged me out!), but generally feel fantastic. The funny thing is I had the "flu" this week! Weird. When I wanted to start eating again, I was craving eggs, then ground beef! Hysterical! Today I was eating a turkey burger and could only eat half. In fact, I feel a little bloaty. Anyone else experience this? And I experienced quite the "whoosie" this week too - 10 pounds!

My mini-goal is 200 pounds, hopefully by the end of April. My final destination will probably be in the 160 to 170 range. I will have to see how I feel and how I look. I'm a tall girl, so if I fall too low on the scale, I start to look all Mary-Kate Olson (not a good look on me!). I just need to exercise more and more and more!! Anything would be better than nothing!

I've been reading a lot of posts on ADBB, which have been extremely helpful. There are oodles of wonderful people here - some absolutely stunningly gorgeous folks! You give me loads of information, support, and love. I feel like this board is my life-line and support system. So, a big thanks!

    Big love until next time!

Congratulations on returning to Atkins and renewing your committment to a healthier lifestyle!

I think your mini-goal is realistic and you may even be surprise to have more weight off by then.

    Keep up the good work!

If that's your dog, she's the cutest thing ever! I love dogs! Actually, I love all animals - I have 2 cats that remind me that to chase ghost-mice and run around for no reason is a perfect way of life!

And thanks for your support! I love this place!

You got that right! He actually is a dear friend (we've known each other for 20 years), but we SUCKED at being in a "relationship." I'm so glad that is over - now I can be open to new loves and new friends!
