  • Time to start going through the rungs?

I am not an official STAC member, however I just had a generic quesiton. I've been following this WOE for awhile off and on, but this time I am hoping to following it strictly and correctly. In prior attempts I've remained on induction the entire time, usually then failing and eating some Atkins product or consuming something I am not supposed to causing me to debate whether I can or should even stay on it. Ugh! and I am tired of it. I know I can, I know I am strong, I just often are enabled by the pressure of people or environmens I am in.

HOWEVER, I think something that might help me is if I start actually going through the rungs which I have never done. I want my weight to come off!!! which is why I though staying on strict induction would do, but I am starting to question it. I started at 138..I am 133 now... my goal is to be 110 and obviously the sooner the better.

I think I might be metabolically resistant and I know for sure that I have thyroid function problems (genetics and my blood type). Any advise? suggestions?

Re: Time to start going through the rungs?

Hello, Welcome. For me continuing to OWL was the right choice it allows me more food choices and that helps when out etc...at being able to choose something appropriate. I am also hoping by working the rungs that I will be able to seamlessly progress to pre-maintance then maintance and that I will be able to maintain and eat healthily for life. Boy I want to be there the sooner the better too but if it takes a few extra weeks in a lifetime journey well thats OK because I plan to be fit for life. Atkins is not a diet that I will be quitting...I want to gain skills and work Atkins into my daily life so that I can not "cheat" and not reagin again.

By the way although I have progressed on the rungs, I just started legumes, I made a new reciepe for refried black soy beans that was delish.... and I am still losing and feeling great

Go for it. Just take it slow and easy and add foods that excite and sound good. I got to the berry rung and stalled out there.
