Are black soy beans considered part of the legume rung? I have saved them for now and I was just wondering if maybe they are not even actually considered a legume?

I made this great recipe for refried black soy beans from Dana's Low Carb recipe book...DH loved them and thats alot he doesn't usually like "diet" things.

Boy, Becca, I'm not sure, but I would treat them as legumes I think. They are very low carb though and have lots of fiber.

Yep - soy beans are a legume!!

I must try and locate some of those myself soon!! That recipe looked good when I saw it in Dana's book.

Cool Thanks I'm glad I waited. I actually found some at Big Lots a discount/discontinued item store for 0.39 $ where I had paid 1.69 per can at health food store on sale. I only got 2 cans because I had not tried them yet and even at 0.39$ if they were awful I would have a bunch on my hands. Now I am going to go there and buy them out...LOL

enjoy them and watch for any reactions. They are a great food.

just remember if you try to neutralize the bean effects with beano you have just upped your carbs because you made carbs that were undigetible by you but by the intestinal flora now digestible by you!
