  • Restarting induction

Hi, i started a modified induction on feb 1 and lost 10 lbs in 7 days, then i added more carbs and now i'm slowing gaining, the carb addiction is sooo bad. I feel like i need to eat all the time, i was watching tv about some dope addicted couple and i was like, they are not much different than me, they do drugs and their lives are so messed up and i eat and get fat and unhealthy. Wish can get rid of the food addiction. I stopped reading this forum and that might have added to my weakness, so now i promise to read this forum everyday. Ok so now i have a mini goal, 140lbs by April 23 (i have to go visit my sis in Miami), it's a very reasonable goal (i'm at 152lbs at the moment), so will start induction starting tomorrow or right now. Wish me luck,
    Ana

Ana you hit the nail on the head. I am so out of control when I go off plan. I can eat 3 to 4 times what I am satified with on Atkins. Like the drug addict I will eat it 'just because it is there' Coming here helps a lot.

      thanks for the reply.

I'm at day 3 induction, have not been keeping a clean induction but def. within the 20g carb. I started at 152 and this morning at 147 woo hoo. NO exercise and i really want to get on that elliptical machine and the weigh loss is very motivating. Day 1 and 2 were super hard, that's why i didnt write here 'cuz i thought i would give up; but now i feel energetic and not so sleepy, tired or hungry. I love this diet. In addition, my house has a lot of more healthy stuff than before and my 2 kids are benefiting w/o knowing, my 2yr old has not had any junk, just fruits and wheat crackers, i intend to teach and love good food so that they avoid the weight problem.

I will be measuring soon and posting some pics.

        Re: Restarting induction

welcome back. Dr Atkins new about those trigger foods and that was one of the reasons he ranked the added carb foods the way he did the lower the GI impact the easier it is to save yourself should you find one. follow the rules and the rungs in OWL and you will have much better success fighting off the addiction cause right now you are detoxed and only dealing with the mental side of it. I call it being a carboholic and unlike those folk who can stay clean by avoiding the stuff we low carbers have to take our addiction out and use it every day as part of our food intake and it is so tuff to walk that tiger and put it back several times a day cause as you saw it doesn't like to be caged.

        happy low carbing
