  • question about the scale

so im back to atkins after cheating a long time.

anyways, i was wondering what you guys think about weighing yourselves? i was getting on the scale every day, which i now question. how often do you guys step on the scale, if ever? im losing slower second time around and dont want to get discouraged, but i sometimes need to see the scale go down for motivation. any advice? thanks

    Re: question about the scale

Try to limit it to once a week. Aim for the same time each week. But once a week is a good target.

Personally, I am a habitual weigher and jump on the scales 2 times a day, but thats not healthy, its an obsession.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Re: question about the scale

I was and kind of still am addicted to the scale. I am trying to only weigh every couple weeks now that I am through induction. I have posted before that when I reach my goal I am smashing my very expensive scale and posting the pics in this site.

        Re: question about the scale

I use the scale about every day and meausure every two weeks. While this is not the recommended course of action, I feel that the scale keeps me on track, keeps me motivated, and keeps me honest. Seeing the numbers tick down when I'm doing things right also allows me to sort of figure out what routines work best for me and under what conditions I lose the most.

          Re: question about the scale

When I would read posts about people losing slow or not at all someone would reply that 'you're gaining muscle'. I always thought 'yah right, no one's gaining that much muscle'. But I've been watching celebrity fit club and this 400+ pound guy was working his tail off for 3 months. At the end he'd only lost something like 28 lbs, but the big suprise is that he lost 60+ lbs of fat and gained the difference in muscle! I'm a believer now for sure. So just a reminder that there's so much going on inside your body than will ever show on the scale.
