  • Flax Meal on induction

    Hi all,

I am trying to go on induction for the 2nd time. I read in another post, about flax meal crackers. Just mix flax meal and water and nuke them till crisp. Is this a legal induction food and if so how much flax meal is legal? It says 4 carbs per serving and 4 fiber per serving....... Can I eat the crackers all day long... LOL

The induction menu has changed a bit from the first time I went on it. Now people say you can have locarb bread, Flax meal cereal, and other things that weren't on the menu before.... Is this right?

    Thanks for your help..

    Re: Flax Meal on induction

NOOOOOOOOOOO. What people? Nobody on this board would tell you this!

You may have 1 TB flax meal/day on induction to help with digestive issues.

Otherwise, you may eat foods from this list:

    http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ead.php?t=6781

and nothing else if you want your induction to be as successful as it can be!
What is it, a RACE? It's coming off, right????

It may stall, I'm not sure. But I know that Falx is for the later OWL stages really.

It was a Moderator Emeritus that posted this menu so I thought it was a good one. I guess that you just can't venture away into other foods and just stick to the old menu......

              Re: Flax Meal on induction

I think that's a pretty great menu. Flax seed 1TB is what's allowed, so that may be over, but doesn't have to be. 1 TB goes a long way. I was referring to the low carb bread. Don't eat that until well in to OWL. But your acceptable foods are listed very clearly in the thread I linked, and all of the foods on this menu are within that list, provided that when s/he says "eggplant parmesan", they are talking about grilled eggplant with parm cheese and maybe mixed with some tomatos, sticking w/in the one cup allowance. KWIM?

Hope that helps, and good luck on your clean induction. Just keep the list handy

                Re: Flax Meal on induction

1 tablespoon may be able to make crackers if you stretch it, but I remeber the mix for the cereal is between 5 and ten.

                  Re: Flax Meal on induction

I think I will just bag the flax meal all together. I don't see how you can have flax meal cereal and crackers with only 1 TBS of flax meal allowed.......

                  Thanks

I played around with those flax crackers and they were awesome, but they stalled me big time, I don't use them anymore.

                      Re: Flax Meal on induction

According to DANDR 2002, flax is for regularity, not an induction legal daily food. If you're constipated, you supplement it until you're regular, but i don't think it's for all the time. like psyllium, flax is something to be used to remedy the issue, not an everyday thing.
