  • eating out-a big success

i had to go out shopping today for bridesmaid dress for cousin's wedding, i knew we were going to go out to eat afterwards, and was a little worried. we found out there was a little restaurant/pub in walking distance from the shop, and decided to eat there. i wasn't sure if they were going to have anything i could eat, and just figured i would just get water and not order any food. when we got our menu's they had a variety of salads so i knew that would be something i could eat, and then i asked if i could get a hamberger w/o the bun and they said it was no problem. this is the 13th day of a clean induction and my first time eating out since i started back on this woe. i was determined to not go and
jeopardize my success by eating something i was not allowed to have.
my house salad with ranch dressing and hamberger with lettuce, tomato, cheese and onion topped with mayo was perfect and delicious. i was so glad that i was able to enjoy the experience and not have any guilty feelings to ruin our outing.

just wanted to share this with y'all, and let ya know that eating out is not always a disasterous event. monday is weigh in day and the end of my 14 day induction, however i plan on doing an extended induction.

good luck to all and drink your water!!!!!!!

Good, good, good for you!! Sometimes restaurants can be very accommodating to our WOE. All it takes on our part is a few minutes to really look over the menu. Good job with induction.

      You are doing GREAT!!!

Restaurants can be such a downfall, and you get hungry there and it's SOOOO easy to get off track.

I had out of town guests over the weekend and they wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant, where I always want the chips and salsa. I forgot to bring my pork rinds, but I just sat and watched them all eat the yummy carbs while I waited for my fajitas (with no tortillas).

We CAN do this!! We are stronger than the restaurant food choices!!!

You sound like you are really into this "doing-it-right" thing, You go, girl!!
