  • First post here -- 2nd Induction attempt

    Hi Everyone,

I tried Induction a couple of years ago, but never really did the full 2 weeks -- so I'm posting on the second-timers' board, considering I at least gave it a shot once.

I'm on day 3 -- and I have to say that day 2 was MISERABLE. Well, not all of it, but by the end of the day, I had a near-migraine headache that was so miserable I was in bed by 7:30pm -- and my head actually hurt to touch the pillow. I thought it would implode, but upon waking about 12 hours later, I took some Excedrin -- and have taken some more later this afternoon -- and I've successfully fought off another major headache. It could have been residual from last night, but I had some pounding this morning, too.

My best discovery -- Diet Lemon Iced Tea from Snapple! 0 calories, 1g of carbs and 0 sugar. It was a nice break (and quite a tasty treat!) from the water intake. I've been very busy today, so that was kind of my breakfast -- and I've been snacking on sausage and celery sticks (with my fat coming from a bit of veggie dip). So far, so good. I even think I'm well enough to do some walking tonight. Those first two days though -- no way. I hate not exercising when I diet, but last night especially, it would have been near impossible.

Thanks for listening. I'm wishing for major success. I am going to do a 12 day Induction b/c there's an annual beer fest in our city next Saturday, and if this is going to be a way of life for me, I need to allow myself to still enjoy my favorite yearly festival! I'm not going to be psycho rigid with it to the point that I can't still have fun at something I've been looking forward to for an entire year

Other than that, I'll hop right back to my low-carbing the very next day and continue to succeed from there! Here's looking forward to seeing some results!!

Good Luck with that! You might want to check the good ol book to see where that snapple fits in with induction though DUCK (don't hit me)

You just stick it out and welcome to STAC

Welcome to STAC. I'm on day 4, and so far, I haven't had a lot of progress in the weight department. I did manage to WALK through Wal Mart today twice! That's a big deal for me because I usually have to use the carts, and our Wal Mart is the 3rd largest in the country. I've found these people to be really supportive. Good luck.
      June Goals
      1. Continue with water
      2. Use bike more (3x per week would be nice).
      3. Continue with videos.
      4. Go to the YMCA for water classes.
      5. Build stamina for more walking.

      Goals for May:
      1. Water every day - at least 100 oz.
      2. Walk through Wal Mart instead of ride.
      3. Post every day.
      4. Get the exercise bike out of basement and use it!
      5. Re-read DANDR! It's been too long.

Re: First post here -- 2nd Induction attempt

I think it's a-okay, considering it has 0 sugar, 0 calories, and 1g of carbs. It's certainly not regular Snapple (tons of carbs) - it's diet. I've already lost 4 lbs. in 4 days, so I don't see it as a problem at all. Thank you though -- I *do* appreciate it!

Oh, I suppose it would be good to list my goals: 5'5" height; 170/166/135. I am a former marathon runner who never had a weight problem -- until I stopped running! LOL! So hopefully I can lose these lbs. and get back to my favorite hobby!

Good luck to you, too, Omnimomma and Starmaker. I'm happy to find these boards.

            hey brynna
im sure that running background is going to help you a lot. excercise was a whole new thing to me...
i was thinking you might wanna put your goals and basic info in your signature. I know I always read people's stats. it makes a difference whetther youre losing 30 or 100 pounds.

I've added some info. to my signature -- hopefully that will help : )
Wow, I would LOVE to finally be in the 150s. I can't wait to break that first 11 lb. mark and be at 159. But most importantly -- I'm sticking with it and already on DAY 5!
